I was clean 8 days today and I got into a fight with my Gf , well it wasn’t a fight it was her yelling at me and calling me names and instead of staying and trying to make it right , I used it as an excuse to leave , when I got home I started having SEVERE withdrawal and depression and now I’m super super depressed because I relapsed. Tomorrow is a new day and I will stand back up and do all I can to fix it tomorrow. I’m gonna call my counselor and tell him first thing in the morning . Thanks for making videos for people who are struggling. I don’t think people understand that relapse when u first at getting clean happens and that we shouldn’t hate ourselves for it . There is a lesson in the why and if we vow to learn that lesson and avoid the same triggers , well , that’s where success lies for us

@Animal-Reaction-Clips yes it does. If you understand that over time you used alot of dopamine from drugs. You body actually loses the receptors which then causes side effects. But also brain shrinks and is being under utilized because the only partd of brsin being used is the reward system. How to heal the brain? Don't do drugs ever again and let time for your brain to heal. How to heal quicker? Meditate/fasting and sleep more hours. But do research before you so anything. I feel your pain. I’ve just made it to 60days sober of opioids. I thought the worst of it was over once I detoxed. I hadn’t a clue about PAWS. just been feeling so physically and mentally shitty after detox. No one ever mentioned what my life was up against after detox. I thought I’d bounce back. But I haven’t. Still experiencing physical & mental issues at day 60. Maybe it’s better I didn’t know what I was up against when I chose to get sober. Cuz honestly I wouldn’t have chosen to “get clean”. Within 1 years time I detoxed from benzos, adderall, and now prescription pain pills. And I feel like complete shit still. All while going through a divorce, from a 28 yr marriage. I have no where to live. And my small family consists of a mother that’s addicted to everything I was dependent on. And the rest of my family that doesn’t even understand what I’m going through. Yes I’m very suicidal. I realized I’m gonna need to seek help and trust In strangers to get me through this process. And for me that’s extremely difficult.

Anhedonia and awful withdrawal feeling more than mood so much, tho i know can affect that too. Wish I was more persistent with when i went off dexamphetamine. Tried being off for a year but still didn't get better so returned. Was on for 15 years so long dependency meaning more recovery time... To make it worse, was using alcohol as a substitute which is only going to delay it longer / prevent brain from healing naturally. I'm not sure why people don't speak much about having multiple dependencies (for dopamine sources). Even looking up medical journals, It's always about individual drug addiction. Alcohol, amphetamine etc. Not that simple, since people find other ways to self-medicate. It's not the individual drug we're addicted to, it's sources of dopamine. For example, if i have more dex i drink less. If i have less dex, i drink more. The complexity of combining different substances needs to be analysed more in studies as surely I'm not the only person.

Vitamin c seemed to get me off lightly with a Methadone withdrawal. In fact the odd thing is I had zero symptoms for about 12 days after stopping. Then I got sick for about 4 days which was intense… Then a few days after I got all cold sweats and sneezing again. No restless legs though luckily. Honestly I think micro dosing Methadone with a dropper at no more than 5ml a day In 1.5 millilitre measured doses on the very worst days is a good thing. It takes the glowing outer aches and pains away and lowers fever. I did that on 2 of the days only. I just hope this new sickness is going to go faster it’s like a protracted battle now. But all in all I feel like I’m getting off very lightly here.

I can tell you a couple of things that helps, buy a kilo or 2 pounds of ascorbic acid. Watch lectures on whats called "Vitamine C megadosing" because vitamine c is not just a vitamine it does a lot of things in the body one of them being making dopamine (which was discovered through parkinsons research), and it's a non toxic antioxidant (a very strong one). This will not just help with paws but with acute withdrawal too (aching body and the mental state). This has been known for 100 years. Dr Linus Pauling (2 times nobel prize winner and biochemist(one of four people in human history who has 2 nobel prizes like Marie Curie,) treated many many diseases including cancer, polio and others) It has been used very very succesfully with heroine addicts in the 60s (and the study they made took only the worst cases, people who injected for more than 15 years etc) but it was swepped under the rug because THERE IS NO MONEY IN IT. Vit C is cheap. A kilo will cost you about 30 Dollars... and will last you a long time. Dont be astounded when you find yourself smiling and laughing again. I did it. It works. I dont make money of that. It just saved my life. Dont believe me? Good! then prove me wrong: Here is the lecture by Dr Suzanne Humphries: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q2SArrppo8rdcbg.html If the youtubeguys deleted it then just type in "Suzanne Humphries lecture Vitamine C" Next step WATCH IT TO THE END. Next step go to a pharmacy or the internet and buy ascorbic acid (that's Vitamine C) if it doesnt work you cant get an overdose from Vitamine C and its not expensive. Try it. I took morphine and benzos for 15 years (opiate maintenance in Austria its called Substitution so i know that it works). The body when stressed needs a lot more then the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of 100 milligram which is a joke. I take 15 grams a day of Vitamine C. I found myself again. Please dont disregard this information, i also studied chemistry and i tested it on myself. PLUS what do you have to lose? After 15 years on the shite i feel normal again. There is a whole field of medicine called Orthomolecular medicine. And this isnt new science this has been around for a hundred or more. Its just never talked about because with Vitamins and Nutrition the Pharma Companies dont make a lot of money. 100 g of ascorbic acid from the pharmacy costs 4 Euros thats about 4 Dollars. Listen to the lecture ps: if anyone has any questions about it, just write me back i have all the peer-reviewed studies of all the doctors who treated the large list of illnesses if you want the link to read it through (From the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s.....) Also: Magnesium daily increases the mood. SSRI work very poorly more than 60% of patients are "therapy resistent, Magnesium (i'm from Austria i dont know the brand names but here it's called Magnosolv) everyday increases your mood dramatically. They found that out in 1921 when they did blood analysis of suicides, they found that they had one thing in common very low or no Magnesium in the blood. I have the study on that too. So i take 15 grams of C and one Magnosolv (you put it in water and it becomes fizzy sorry my english is not very good) Good luck

if you are able to not need any opiate like medications for stomach issues (immodium a.d. [loperamide]) probably the most common, you should look into vivitrol. I have really bad IBS and am on a prescription called lomotil which is like immodium a.d. in that it's not able to cross the blood brain barrier, so you don't get high, but it does reach the opiate receptor in the gut. But that means I can't take vivitrol and I'm stuck with the sleepless nights and restless legs among other side effects. We can go through paws for up to two years after stopping long term methadone use.

Being in "recovery" just validates the brainwashing. They smoke because they think it is doing something for them. It is not. Smokers are in constant drug withdrawal. Smoking a cigarette relieves the drug withdrawal which was caused by the last cigarettes! Relief from drug withdrawal feels absolutely great! Smoking another cigarette brings that relief! You can have permanent relief by purging your body of nicotine and it's metabolites. 6 to 7 days to rid your body of nicotine and another two months to rid your body of it's metabolites.

Wow many congrats on your accomplishment! Acute withdrawal means it can affect you very minimally, at times more so, but mainly it comes in small pieces. What you describe is part of PAWS. But that's ok, this is totally normal. The tools we talk about in the video can greatly impact the effects of these symptoms. I know it can be tough to get going some days in the beginning, but the more you push yourself to stay active and socialize with friends, the faster you will overcome these remaining, annoying little symptoms. The fact that you tapered off and overcame METHADONE addiction, one of the toughest to get off, means you are a warrior man! You can push past these low drive feelings and live life to the fullest. Take your time, and be ok with these feelings knowing that they are temporary. This will pass. And again, congrats on everything and keep up the amazing work! Hey @@michaeldenniscruz, first off congratulations on 45 days without weed, keep up the momentum! Without knowing the details of your use, I think it's still safe to say that you are in fact experiencing Post Accute Withdrawal Symptoms (PAWS). Marijuana detox and withdrawal typically will have peaked and would be done after two weeks. However as with any substance that was abused previously, lingering effects (acute symptoms) can go on for months or even a couple years after stopping. Of course, this is depending on how long you used, how much was being used, and what you are doing now that you are clean. The good news is that you have already gotten past the hardest part for many, which is stopping. Sleep is so important in your healing process, so getting that back to an optimal state will help with any other symptoms that may arise. Here are a couple articles on sleep in early recovery that I think you can definitely benefit from: How To Get A Better Night’s Sleep In Early Recovery and this one: The Science of Sleep. Remember that PAWS comes in bursts or waves, so be patient with yourself and know this is temporary. Take care, stay healthy, and continue to reach out!
