One thing I liked about 100%ing a file is that the stamp that shows that you’ve done everything in a level shows up on your file.

Huge missed opportunity for not saying badge barbarian.

13:43 For me, I missed the top of the flag pole, since I couldn't see where mario was on the bouncy thing. It was PAIN. But it actually gets a lot easier the second time, I feel.

as a person who got all 6 medals within a week of playing, i can confirm that getting all standees was annoying, i had to grind the same level for about an hour for enough purple coins

@@Victini7472 The Sugarstar Trial: Across the Night Sky i found a trick where you could instantly get the wonder flower with yoshi and get all three 10-coins within less then a minute i just grinded it

Eh. If you just buy the standees thruought the game so you never hit max fc then you don’t have to grind

The no sound badge reminds me of the ending from NSMBDS where all you get is a different background for the bottom screen. It's just something to show off to prove your gamerness

The stars on your save file are as old as save files in Mario games. Save files in Super Mario World would have a number telling you how many level exits you've gotten, and when you get all 96 of them, the number turns golden and a star is placed next to it. Heck, you could look back even further, 'cause Mario 2 (later called The Lost Levels) on the Famicom Disk System would add stars to the title screen for every time you've beaten the game.

Never played online but I'm a gambling addict in video games so I got standees basically any time I unlocked a new world. Getting the thank you to finish my 100% playthrough was super satsifying, especially because the amount of play sessions i took to beat the game conveniently lined up with the amount of non easy mode characters. I did switch back to mario from yellow toad for the final world and final two special levels, but it felt like every character got to play an equal part in getting the wonder seeds and completing the game.

Tip: Try a Yoshi + boosting spin jump. It's best for collecting, helping people, and just progression. (Because you can't collect power-ups as Yoshi, you might have to switch out when collecting, and when helping people you can give away your unneeded power-ups)

I wouldn't necessarily call these endings, they're just landmarks on your 100% journey.

Not everyone is a completionist, some people seem a game as finished when they beat the final boss, some see the game as finished when they beat the hardest challenge the game has to offer, these endings are landmarks of completion, but also represent the 4 types of gamers regarding completion, the points where each gamer leaves the game, unless they come back later. Casual, beat the game; Challenger, defeat the game; Collector, find everything; and Completionist, do everything;

@@sergioandresquirogavelarde6816 true but I think that what he meant was that for him alternative endings is when you can have an alternative end cutscene depending on how much you played, like link’s awakening when you don’t die a single time throughout the game, or in 2D metroids games when Samus takes off her suit, but again those examples don’t really change anything in the story. There are some games like Holow Knight that rewards you with a different end cutscene. I guess it really depends on how you define a different ending

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who specifically grinded the world 3 special world level as Nabbit to collect every standee

Maybe when I'm 75 years old we will get a good season finale.

Tbh one of the most disappointing things about Wonder to me was the final battle. Like, seriously, out of ALL the possible things they could do with bowser LITERALLY being the entire castle, the best they could think of for the final level was reusing wonder events from every other part of the game and then making 3 phases of the same thing- spring up, hit the switch? Where are the giant bowser arms growing out of the castle? Where are the walls of bowser-head fire shooters to roll in? Where's the lightning, the rising and lowering lava, or the rising platforms phase? I mean, COME ON- Bowser was ALSO merged with his clown copter, it's the PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to have an arial dog fight, or having him spawn floating platforms for you to jump across while avoiding attacks to get closer to him, but instead we ONLY got 3 phases of time your jump with the beat to hit his chin, with one hit to the head. Such a missed opportunity.

I remember the odyssey video and I think I cried for some reason? Maybe I just didn’t blink… but i felt satisfied by that video so I’m excited for this one.

When the world needed him the most, he returned

At first, I honestly thought you were reaching with this video idea. But thinking about it, I do think Wonder is weirdly...well paced compared to other 2d Mario's. Those games just kinda felt like individual levels to beat. But Wonder gave me multiple things to work towards from the very beginning. Beating the main story, buying every collectable from the shop, completing badge challenges to earn new badges, finding all collectables in the levels, reaching the top of every flagpole, and finding all the entrances to the special world levels. And the nice thing was, if felt like I was progressing all of these objectives at once. Even if I only cared about beating the main story, I'd still have to collect at least SOME Wonder Seeds, which getting purple coins could help with that. Badge challenges would also give me new tools to use that could be useful. Might as well get the top of the flagpoles too when you can, since you obviously need flagpoles to beat the level. It all just worked so well together. Heck, you sometimes find small purple coins on the world map itself. This game really is a Wonder. It's so simple, but also so brilliant

Yeah I collected all the standees last minute too And when I had first finished the final final level I had missed the top of the flagpole, though I still came back as Mario just in online mode

Yes! This was super helpful and I should have mentioned it in the video. Because I wasn't using a guide those level select check marks were all I had to go by lol

Bonus Ending: Online Buddy Get 99999 Heart Points through helping other people online.

I reached true 100% 4 days after the game came out. The last thing I did was grind an hour and a half or so just to get enough purple coins for all the standees I didn't have, was really hoping the whole time I was playing they weren't gonna make that a requirement.

I realized there was a Popplin in the Special World selling character specific standees after I had already gotten them all. So...

There's 2 more endings actually. There's one for getting a maximum of 99999 friendship, and another for having maximum lives, coins, and flower coins. I have achieved all the things I have listed. AND I never used another character other than Luigi.

Why do people make a big deal about the final final badge challenge? I beat it casually in at most 30 minutes while chatting with a friend after school.

i found i had quite the opposite experience from mario wonder... i went in seeing these new cool ideas and levels and i had been playing through my old mario games before it released but once i started playing through i found a couple things that didnt really hold up... to start off i wanted the challenge in each level like i had in NSMBU and luigi U where i would struggle on levels dealing with enemies that all you had to do was jump on their heads, it was a bore, every level was a cake walk and even those 5 star levels i finished on first or second try, but i also see the perspective of others, nintendo wanted this game to be the mario game people bought after seeing the mario movie and they wanted it to be an enjoyable experience for newcomers but i really just missed the charm of staying up late on one or two levels trying to beat that final boss or trying to find that secret. another things that majorly disappointed me was the lack of secret exits, the iconic 1-2 secret exit was there and was hard to find but it led to a captain toad... i was soooooooo disappointed and i wanted something more! over all i just fealt like this game lacked the challenge that older mario games had and even though this game was diverse and new and enjoyable for newbies it just didnt have the spark that the old ones did. thanks for reading and leave any comments or questions if you care

I actually appreciate that game having less secret exits tbh. It's a cool idea, but I think the execution in most 2d Mario's isn't exactly...fair. Wonder having less of them made them more memorable, and decreased the amount of "unfair" secret exists. This, and the fact that i think they're just well placed I general, made 100% completing Wonder more fun then any other 2d Mario for me

i thought mario wonder was very artistic , kinda like rayman origins / legends maybe one day we get some kind of expansion to this game becasued i really like the mechanics/powers of this mario gen.

I will milk all I can from this game because I completed it so early! Literally I 100% the game in the weekend of its release. But its so fun to play and I always return due to how fun it is (and yeah I even was buying the standees throughout my playthrough)

Well There's a 5 ending of super Mario wonder that is what I call the helper king that you get that by helping people on online you get hearts so you need 99999 hearts to get it!

I won't lie. I'm fairly confident in saying you just played the game wrong to somehow invent 2 extra endings for yourself. Not to mention, the basic math of buying the character-specific standees is just such an obvious scam which makes the grind take like 3x as long, since Nintendo has a pretty well-known habit of giving their in-game gachas generous Pity Systems.

Don't worry, I'm not going to make fun of you for using Nabbit to revisit the last level to get one last thing. What I am going to make fun of you for is how inefficient you are in 100%ing this game. Like seriously, I refused to touch online with a 32.5-foot pole and I still managed to have everything by the last level. The game makes it pretty clear what collectibles are in each level with the map used by the - button, (aside from any secret exits, which are marked by a harder-to-see checkmark after completing everything else, but I digress.) Like, did you blindly speed your way past every nook and cranny to explore? Not inspecting anything you came across? This game is pretty low-threat, it's not like Odyssey where it's urgent you get to Bowser as soon as possible, and the standees in shops are made apparent and just one buy gives you everything you need to know. They're a dumping ground for excess purple coins. Either than or I'm just a really good gamer, which messes me up that I've gotten to this level.
