Marginalisation refers to situation where an individual or group of individuals are denied of their rights and are treated different than others. It is a situation when a particular group is forced to live on the fringes rather than in the mainstream. It can be on the can be based on social, economic, political, linguistic and cultural persuasions.  Economic marginalisation and social marginalisation are interlinked. Social marginalisation is based on religion, culture, tradition etc. Marginalised sections do not get access to jobs, education and health facilities and other resources. They don't have access to benefits of economics development and remain socially and economically backward. This creates economic marginalisation. For example, when Adivasis were displaced, they lose major sources of their livelihood. Their traditions and customs were lost. Destruction in one sphere naturally impacts the other.😊

Nice explanation. It would have been great if I would have studied this in a classroom among all classes. The students would have understood marginalization and started looking at all with equality. Economic marginalisation is the exclution of a group from mainstream group due to economic factors like urbanisation of the group and poverty..whereas social marginalisation is the practice of excluding a group from the mainstream society due to difference of the group from the mainstream, like different language,practices,etc.

Response: Hi there! That's a great question. The answer depends on the policies of the government in the village. If the government is willing to implement laws that protect the minority, then the rich people should be safe. However, if the government is not doing anything to protect the minority, then the rich people may face some issues. Hope this helps!

It means that village spirit is worshipped by Adivasis in forest and ancestors are worshipped at home by Adivasis

Sir, I didn't get the link between the economic and the social dimensions of tribal life, which means how changes in the economic dimension affect the social life of tribals or vice-versa?
