Understanding Existentialism: Friedrich Nietzsche

In this video, Professor Thorsby discusses the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. In particular we discuss "The Gay Science", "On the Genealogy of Morality" and the topic of nihilism.     Men, Nietzsche was a philologist not a physicist. And his Eternal Recurrence deals nothing with physics and entropy.

    I hear the brain tumor theory is gaining credibility. His father is suspected of dying of brain tumor IIRC and they think he was likely born with the same precancerous mutation. Also the syphilis infection would have been atypical in many respects.
