    This is the fundamental of understanding ECG. The video on ECG leads placement tells about the various planes. Please watch that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKyjqaiylbqTgLg.html

    Mam can u explain this question Q) Electromechanical systole is best defined as: a) Q wave and S2 ( QS2 interval ) b) Q wave and S1 ( QS1 interval ) c) Q wave and beginning of T wave d) Q wave and R wave

  • @PhysiologyOpen

    @PhysiologyOpen

    9 ай бұрын

    Electromechanical systole - includes ventricular depolarization (electrical activity) and contraction of ventricles (mechanical activity). QS2 is the period from the onset of the QRS complex to the closure of the aortic valves. so answer is A

    If the electrode is outside (both of them ) , then during depolarisation - the wave should go negative for the electrodes which are outside and positive if both electrodes are connected to the inner side

  • @PhysiologyOpen

    @PhysiologyOpen

    3 ай бұрын

    It records potential difference…so as the wave passes, one electrode will be at positive potential and the other at negative potential for some time…and this will record a potential difference between the two electrodes

    when ecg was invented mathematicians were dominant, and name of angles was like this angle p, a etc...hence the name of waves...history of naming such I think goes back to Descartes

    Why have you shown depolarization with negative sign in atria and polarized state with positive sign at rest of places?

  • @PhysiologyOpen

    @PhysiologyOpen

    3 жыл бұрын

    Because we are keeping the electrodes on surface (i.e outside the cell). In depolarization, positivity is inside and negativity outside. Similarly in polarized state, outside is positive with respect to inside.
