Even as a carp angler waders are a huge plus. I'm able to cast farther, throw out chum farther, net fish sooner, and fish in the water away from thick shoreline vegetation.

Hi IVO Thanks for the letting all us subscribers of your tips of waders - personally I have always invested in chest waders only because the advantage is to walk out farther into the bay / the ocean or streams - one tip for you is to do what I always do and that is to have a walking stick tied to a rope and onto the chest waders - just a precaution measure to make sure you will not fall and be sure footed walking in the water - believe me it does help .

Thanks Ivo for the tips. Another tip for people that are of shorter stature is be prepared to get chest waders exclusively since the water is going to come up higher than you than someone that is taller. Also if you’re short and a little on the thick side check out some of the Orvis stuff they have a pretty good variety as far as body types for decent prices. Not a plug just a suggestion since I’m short and fat and had a hard time finding waders. Tight lines everyone.

A good pair of Goretex waders are about 3x more expensive than Nylon but would also last 3x as long. I know a few guys who have had a pair of Goretex waders for 10 years now. They waterproof them with Nikwax once a year. I'm fishing 10c or 50f water right now with a thin pair of breathable stocking foot waders. I put a microfleece base layer on with a thicker fleece pant over top. Put one thick sock on, the wading booties and then an extra 3mm neoprene boot over top. Keeps me warm all day, at least until I trip over a boulder and belly flop in the water anyway.

Yeah I don't have a boat. Was thinking about getting a kayak but I have a sports car and it would not be ideal to mount the kayak on that. Waders are a nice option to bank fish but still be able to get out to where the fish are, thanks for the informative video

Very important thing you forgot to note. Taller people vs shorter people. Looks like my crotch is near my knees if I get chest waders. I have a 34+inseam, most chest waders are 30 inch inseam. Some companies do not make chest waders for taller folks with a one size fits all/most.

I am considering buying some waders, but I really don't know anything about this process. How deep in water can you go with the chest waders, and do the really keep water out of the suit?
