His last full collection released in 2010. Last year he released new works. Prior to 2009 he would release seasonally. The hype for CCP has been around for a lot longer than year. He was a huge fan of Schiele. A lot of his work restricts the body and makes you move and stand in a way he wants you to. The elephant boots are a prime example. He does not die the animal skins when they are alive! That bomber was from 08-09 and he would inject dye in between the different layers of the hide. As well as Carol, Maurizio Amedei is known for his one piece patterns. Since Deepti left Carol, that’s what took him so long to produce new works. She was his right hand and master tailor.

Self Edge and Dead End were paper of the same 2010 collection. In his showroom the self edge was displayed in an outdoor section of his studio/showroom. Which is a run down decrepit warehouse building on the banks of the river. Would be interesting to delve into his earlier collections from 90’s and early 00’s. it’s less aggressive.

As someone who is not involved in the fashion world whatsoever, I think that's why I like CCP's work. I have zero understanding of what it takes to make a garment, what it takes to style a garment, what's "trending". While I'm sure creating a piece of clothing is hard, it's gotta be far more difficult to create something that is so opposite. You're taking every notion of how something should be done, and going "fuck it". I'll never understand the fashion world, and frankly, I don't have much interest in figuring it out. I do fuck with CCP though.

Trying to understand this is for me, like posing myself in front of a mirror, imagining that I know how superficial artists find meaning in their own definition about their own artwork but crying myself to sleep because of a fear of opinions of people I don't know. It's superficial and cringe. Maybe that's just my bias.
