I have a question. I make rosaries, stringing on beads to beading wire. Rosaries are usually kept in small pouches in someone's purse/pocket, to be used at church or where ever they may go to pray. The issues I've had are that when the rosary has been rolled up a few times to fit into the pouch, they tend to kink, similar to a memory wire. What wire can I use where this will not happen. I'd like it to be able to be flexible and lay long all the time, even though it may be stored rolled up. Thank you.

I am wondering if the 49 will be strong enough for my oyster napkin rings...The part I’m most concerned about is where the oyster will be attached to the ring...there is a fairly large hole, about 3mm, in the tip of the oyster, so I don’t think I will be able to “fill” the hole (altho I plan to wrap the beading wire thru the hole a few times before tying off/knotting the 2 ends). Should I use a different cord altogether!? Any advice on whichever type & size I should use would be great!!

Hi, I am beginning making my jewelry and wanted to know which thread would be the most resistant for gemstones. I used nylon coated beading wire and the necklace snapped. I like heavy stones and gemstones in my necklaces but I am afraid to use this wire again. Thanks a lot for responding.

The 49 strand is the strongest beading wire. .024 is a good, strong diameter.

Hi. I love your video. Thank you. I do have one question: is Beadalon 49 good for small beads bracelet? Because my actual tiger tail is too stiff. Simple design of 4 mm beads closed with silver crimp and silver lobster clasp. Will remain round or it will look like a teardrop? Thank you

That would be a great wire choice. Just make sure that the diameter that you choose fills the holes of your beads as much as possible. The 49 strand wire is the maximum drape, so your design will likely be more in the shape of a teardrop, but that will depend on how heavy your beads are.

I’ve just had a necklace break on me - semi precious beads 6/8/10mm - and I used beadalon 19. Now the beads are off the wire I can see several places where they were cutting through the nylon coating 😢. How can I be sure that 49 will be any better?

Great question! Are you beads any specific shape or are they just round beads? Also, how heavy are your beads?

Beadalon round, mainly agate so relatively heavy

The most important thing to consider after the number of strands is the diameter of your wire. You want to fill the holes of your beads as much as possible to minimize abrasion. Often, the insides of beads are rough, and as they move around on the wire, they can cut through the nylon coating, and eventually cut the wire. I would recommend at least a .024 diameter of beading wire.

Great! Then you would need to be using either a #1 Crimp Bead or a #2 Crimp Tube.
