Ahhh thats interesting if we are working with a major key like C, our 3rd note would be a major and to make it a minor 3rd it would just be a half step down which is ( E flat)

I learned all modes back in the 80s and practically forgot the names of those you didn’t mention (because you’re right, you really don’t need them for most styles of playing).

I agree! My hunch is these 4 modes will give most players a tone of mileage, then one day if they reallly wanna shred Locrian they'll have context.
