UNDERRATED? | The Incredible Hulk (2008) Review Part 1

Фильм және анимация

Part 1 of 5 of an in-depth review of the Hulk's debut in the MCU.
I've decided to upload my Incredible Hulk Review in parts to make it more digestible.
My full review was blocked by a copyright claim. It's taken way too much time and effort to try and fix, only to get blocked over and over again. At the moment, I'm going to direct you towards the review that's up in parts. Maybe one day I'll get the full review back up.

I always liked the concept that Bruce has to keep his heart rate under 200 bpm as opposed to just getting angry or emotional

That would make controlling the hulk a lot easier especially if he had the help of stark tech to keep his heartbeat low, however Id find it hard to believe that he increased his heartbeat to 200 bpm right before punching a leviathan

200 bpm is really fast. I can only get mine to 190ish when I am super pushing it. Means I would be incident free, and sex is perfectly safe.

@@chrisblanc663 the fact he was running to take a break to stop his heart rate from reaching to 200 it shows how much is at stake. He was also stressed from turning.

But that’s not the character. It isn’t don’t make my heart rate go up, it don’t make me angry. The character supposed to be a metaphor for mental illness, trauma, PTSD and anger issues. Not heart rate issues don’t make me horny, you wouldn’t like me when I’m horny like what the hell he had a relationship with Betty Ross as an adult and they couldn’t get intimate the entire time? That’s a glorified friendship.

Watching all of these reviews, you can really tell the director and writers cared about Hulk, and producing a high quality movie. I really wish that the MCU focused on good story telling and characterization, and not next product profit and humor.

Thank you for doing this! With the controversy surrounding She-Hulk and ‘Soyboy Hulk’, I was trying to find out why everyone was disagreeing with MCU’s portrayal of the Hulk. Found myself becoming more of fan when I learned more about the character, especially with what the vision for the 2008 movie. So thank u for breaking down the movie and for trying to be objective.

I've always loved the hulk ever since I was little and can scarcely recall what happened in the earlier movies. But, with what Marvel has been putting out recently, especially with She-hulk. The other night I watched the original movies and seeing these dedicated videos has been so cleansing and refreshing to see the actual character used properly. So thank you for these dedicated breakdown and character analysis videos!

Tom Roth was approximately 46yo when this was filmed. He had the right body for a middle-aged mercenary. What I mean is, its normal to get ripped for a part nowadays. He didn't eat steroids like Pacman pellets and start bench pressing Buicks.

The fact they got rid of a lot of deleted scenes that establish more of the characters is big crime. And Ross saying that he wants what’s inside of him, shows his desire.

19:01 Ross really shows his manipulative streak in this scene. He knows exactly how old Blonski is. He was just looking through his file the other day. It's scenes like this that I can't help but think back to when I watch Civil War. Ross has already revealed who and what he is. He's a power-hungry manipulator and a very good liar. He's doing the same thing to the Avengers in that movie that he's doing to Blonski in this movie. But virtually nobody remembers the details of this movie, so nobody takes them into consideration.

To talk a out the gloves for a second, removing them does make sense, the types of gloves he had on wouldn't let him actually work on it if you look at them you can see they'd make any precise finger work useless, however he should have kept them on to see what screwdriver he'd need, the real problem with the scene is that he gets a wound like that from electricity, electricity doesn't cut your skin, and it surely wasn't just sharp enough to cut him, a better way to get this would have been to have him stripping a wire with a knife and while talking to his boss he cuts himself by mistake

You have to understand that when this movie came out most people thought it was a sequel to the Ang Lee Hulk movie and a lot of people didn't realize that this film was the beginning of the Marvel universe and how alot to with why it wasn't as Big of a Hit as Ironman was. I remember back then how people would say I thought it was a sequel to the Hulk film

That and come on they had to think of something to further the Plot.

Huh? In Iron Man 1, Stark burns terrors to death with his giant Iron Man suit, and allows the Middle-eastern civilians to beat the terrorist to death, with shitty rock instrumental music in the background, which also glamourizes the machine and murder. This makes also him yet another anti-hero, and makes the movie yet another generic Hollywood action movie. I know, they’re terrorists, but nobody knows any of their circumstances (if they were forced to become bad or not, if they would have rather wanted to protect their families or not). And, yes, this Hulk movie has a lot of problems. And, true, Stark destroys the rockets in the process, and openly says that he won’t allow his company to make, which is great character development, but he contradicts himself.
