This is a beginners guide and helpful information to help you differentiate between the differences in Modern Scandi Style and Underhand casting similar to what Goran Andersson does. Differences include equipment like shooting head length, leader length, the grip, the lift the sweep, hand movements, body position.
So there is a difference between Underhand Casting and Modern Scandinavian Casting. There are also some similarities.

Nice explanation. From some U tube videos I've watched the Spiral Single Spey seems to be very much used at the tournament casting competitions. I can only assume it can generate a lot of power and distance. Thanks for posting this. 👍

Do you think the underhand method is a better option for trout Spey setups seeing how the heads tend to be much shorter?

Yes it most definitely would work with the short heads as long as they are not too heavy. Underhand technique creates high linespeeds!
