1: choose research director 2: build lab and watch him sprint through the research options 3: skip doctors and pharmacy 4: build drone manufacture and let engineer blast a 2x2 free of sediments to build the black market 5: take a big loan and build production rooms in far away places (they're automated), hire workers etc 6: speed up the game while fulfilling all black market contracts for big cash 7: watch the game crash and corrupt your save file 8: find a better functioning game or enjoy life elsewhere

@@coolchrisable They fixed that at least yesterday, still wouldn't consider it a 20 dollar "complete game" but i'll keep an eye on it and see what else they add. Definitly should have been released in Early Access, but we'll see what they do going forward

@@manio22 Dwarf fortress was popular before indie things became and thing and was still popular now. They barely updated the UI (still cancer) and then it sells another bajillion copies because it has graphics and is one steam.

@@deadlock_problem I can't say DF's interface was bad, it was just a ascii-based interface because the whole game was ascii-based, so the UI was just working within the constraints of the game. You could argue the game was bad because of this, not the UI on its own. And true to that fact, many players did not play DF, because of that very limitation. So no I don't think DF makes a case about a good game with bad UI, I truly can't think of any good game with bad UI that I ever played. There probably are some, I just can't recall any.

​@@deadlock_problem Dwarf fortress is the exception, not the rule. You won't make a dwarf fortress level of mechanics game, so you shouldn't expect people to give the UI leeway like they did with that game. Especially when you have to compete with every other title on the market

Glad you reviewed this, I was debating it, saw you had a video pop up and now I'm happy to focus on other projects. Thanks for biting the bullet on this one, would love to see it do well, but it needs some major tool tip/quality passes like you mentioned, seeing your doctors run across town to grab a cup of coffee then all the way back was painful. Hearing you say 'This sucks for them to do!' confirmed it. Thanks man, always happy to watch your vids to add another to the wishlist and follow up on it later on, hopefully the devs fix it. Could be really fun with long term perks unlocks, endless modes of doing it over and over again, and the art on those pop ups was seriously great, really enjoyed that art style. Here's to hoping they do something with it and don't just abandon it after the reviews smashed it into the pavement face first as of this comment.

This game definately needs event notifications. It's pretty much industry standard for things like Rimworld, Paradox Interactive titles.

Looked interesting, then I went to it on Stream. Yeah. I'll forget about this one like it seems it deserves right now.

Love the concept but the reviews are brutal, thought it got review bombed. After reading through them and watching the gameplays though, yea, this game needs a lot of work.

This is the kind of game you just kind of let cook for a while. See how it turns out.

It's a shame, it seemed like a really neat idea on the face of it - Raccoon City Prologue Simulator.

@@gamingbud926 Nah, they are just a crank with an inexplicable grudge who for unclear reasons constantly posts the exact same comment to almost every video. Splattercat has repeated on his Discord and during Twitch streams that they do not get paid by studios, marketing companies or anyone else than Twitch/KZread, other than sometimes getting free review copies. My advice is to just report for spam/harassment to YT, block and don't waste your time with whoever this rabid clown is. They'll have another account doing the exact same thing within a week anyway. It's always really obvious because every comment is pretty much just a copypasta every single time.

Can't say as I'm surprised given the multiple minutes Splat spends at the end talking about how you can see a good game in there but it's buried under a whole lot of bugs, glitches and assorted design flaws. A shame, here's hoping they can bring that game to the forefront and get rid at least most of the problems before the problems sink it for good.🤞

This reminds me a lot of Exogate Initiative just side-scrolling instead of top-down. So much so that I thought it might be the same developers, just going for the "evil corporation" plotline rather than the "sci-fi aliens" one. Unfortunately, this one seems to be a bit less finished despite not being listed as Early Access. Hopefully they will take some of Splatt's suggestions to heart and patch it up some, as the idea seems pretty fun and interesting even if the execution is somewhat lacking.

Looks like a good idea that needs some fixing and polish to make work. Also not a fan of the procedural generation in the game, might need to give the generator some minimum requirement tweaks such as at least one 2x1 space above ground and such. Definitely needs those tool tips though.

yeah, a fixed "core" building with the mandatory slots above and below ground with procedural spaces after that seems critical in a game like this. One person complained they had buildings and sewer access on one side, and literally everything else on the other far side so it was impossible to run even a single basic building because of it.

OMG I literally just watched The Accountant last night on Netflix! Its a surprisingly good action movie that got buried in 2016.

Cool concept, I like the UI and graphics, fonts etc.

Wait, so this is not early access? It looks like very very rough alpha at best.

I tried it myself, all i can say, wait on it for now. the release is incredibly unstable and badly balanced. Employee stamina is almost nonexistent, rending some things like the very important logistic center into a hellisly annoying and barely operational mechanic. edit:(in my new game it was slightly better because i was able to build a sleeping room and a rec room closeby, the room still has more downtime than uptime lmao, and i still dont understand why the game randomly doesnt allow me to research the 2 consumer techs that require biomass. i have the biomass, everythings fine, but i cant, and many black market deals required those...)

How DO you actually do Plant or Infantry research!! I searched through every menu and had all the Labs built + Researchers in all of them but it just didnt let me start the Research! Nothing in the Net or on Steam even mentions that thats a Problem. So please tell me!

Bad enough that it's not down as Early Access while it's in such a shoddy state, without trying to gouge people with Day 1 DLC

This game looked great, but man the Steam reviews at this point are Mostly Negative with a lot of complaints!

It has a very low review score on Steam, usually when I see that the game is either being review bombed by one side of the ideological spectrum or the other, or it's a bad PC port. However, when I looked at what the reviews were actually saying, it turns out that this game, according to them at least, is a buggy mess where you can't even research all the things that are currently in game. People are also complaining about the random underground layout and how your employees get stuck in loops where they run to do something and are out of stamina before they get to whatever it is they're supposed to do. I might buy this in the future once they have fixed the crashes and balancing, but right now it sounds like a hot mess.

can confirm. Havent run into that specific stamina problem yet. they kinda have enouth to work, but its very limited. Lots of downtime of rooms, and your workers wont work rooms whose employee is on break. So often very important rooms like the room needed for the black market, a very very important game mechanic, has more downtime than uptime, in very bad map generation it can potentially barely be worked at all. Game also crashed twice on me today. And yes the research was bugged for me i think. I have to concede though, that alot of these negative things can easily be fixed with a numbers tweak. Increasing stamina capacity is easy, then its just the crash fixing.

Small amount of them, though. I think the biggest complaints are not knowing what many of the gameplay elements are because of the terrible tutorial, and a bug with police aggression which was fixed today. Watching this video will actually take care of a lot of new player onboarding lol. Splat is our tutorial. Edit: Ok, yeah, I finished the video and staff stamina is killing the game. Well-deserved reviews.

Currently playing this game, it was like Mind Over Magic/Definitely Not Fried Chicken combined with Fallout Shelter. The animation is kinda clunky and wacky. 😂

Or just balance it better where they can walk and still produce enough income for you. The way the background (behind your buildings) works, it seems like they could just spawn a civilian right next to the building they need to get into. No running required at that point.

I like games from this perspective , bases in XCOM were similar too. Do they have a name?

On Steam it's listed as "Mostly Negative" right now. It's a good idea and you can see what they are going for, but there's FAR too much missing from this game which you get in games of this kind. As Splattercat said, there are too many QOL missing from this game. If it was in Early Access, you could understand it and cut it some slack, but this is released as a full finished game, and it's anything but that.

You know, as a ruthles sorganisation which is only interested in profit, you should be able to buy the media, police and some politicians. Not to mention there are clearly elevators in the game, why not build your own and create some sort of hidden entrance, Dr.No Style? Aside from that, automated production should be a given unlss they expect us to look at the availabel medizine one a ingame day.

I feel like you should be building your own office tower instead of using a bunch of tiny, random gen ones. It's a weird choice not too.
