Uncovering The Truth: The Case Of Frances Craig

Ойын-сауық

In August 2014, 28 year old Frances Marie Craig was living with her fiancé and children in Jackson, Michigan. One morning, at around 6:30am, Eric arrived home from his 12 hour night shift and fell asleep downstairs. A few hours later, his daughter ran down and frantically woke him up. She had made a frightening discovery in the bedroom. Frances was dead on the floor, and the twisted and shocking series of events that led to this, would soon be revealed...

This is a really good example of why you don’t predetermine somebody’s “guilt” based solely on how they act during an interrogation.

That’s why I dislike all of those JCS inspired interrogation commentary videos. You can’t determine anything from body language or how something is worded, as the FBI has demonstrated. The only real way to interpret behavior is if you know the person very well and you know when they are acting weird. For example, if a couple has been married 30 years they are probably going to be able to tell if the other one is lying. But when interrogators meet a suspect for the first time and talk to them for a few hours there’s no way they can tell if they’re lying or not. The only way is if they confess, and that’s not always real.

It wasn’t JUST because of his ‘suspicious behavior.’ It was also because of the circumstance; she died in a room alone in a house full of people that didn’t look to be broken into. He said he had already been in the room with her in that position and left her like that. It all would naturally come off a little odd. They didn’t arrest him, but as detectives they did their job in being as diligent as they could considering everything.

Very well said Lisa! I agree with you 100%! It’s disgusting how often I hear stories similar to this one! How in the world is a person that was found guilty of terrible crimes allowed back on the streets?! I’ve heard numerous people that have been to prison say that when they were released they had become better more calculated criminals, they say prison is like going to college for criminals, they learn better techniques and more ways to get away with crime! So for whomever it was that allowed these evil, non human, monsters back onto the streets should be given the same amount of time in prison as the criminals they released get! They don’t care about these families being devastated they just want to score some woke points so they can say they are one with the people,!any state that lets harden criminals back out should be required to let the criminals stay in their state and be required to keep tabs on the criminal and if the criminal commits any crime the person that let them out should sit in the same cell as them for the same amount of time! It’s sad our Country have become this soft with padded corners so no one gets their feelings hurt even though they have no feelings and didn’t think twice about stabbing a innocent woman that was an actual contributing member of society and not some low life drug dealer that things they are tough for killing a woman! 🖕🏻

This, this was an abomination of tragic mistakes and unfeeling killers. I mean, you have a woman completely at your mercy, tied to her bed, her babies in the next rooms, and when she doesn't give you what you want you stab her 90 times??!! That's overkill in the worst possible sense. Nobody deserves that, in particular someone who is utterly innocent as Frannie was. I'm appalled that this case is even going to appeals. I agree. In the UK you can have a life sentence for murder and get 15 years like my uncle by marriage. He shouldn't have got that cause the guy he killed was trying to kill him. In America I bet my uncle would have walked free cause if he didn't kill the guy it would have been him dead. That 1 thing I agree with Americas self defence laws. Like killing burglars. In the UK you can get life for killing a man who is armed with a knife and in your home with your wife and babies asleep upstairs so he does what comes instinctively natural to protect his family and if he kills that piece of shit who shouldn't be in someone's family home dies because of a hero father, the burglar becomes the victim and the children he was protecting grow up fatherless and with a mother who has had a mental breakdown cause she may as well wished the burglar killed her husband as she could have atleast got his life insurance policy. In America this would never happen. I know in Texas thar you can unload clips into home invaders and the cops pat you on the back for it. Not here though. Just like 20 years ago when this farmer shot 2 shit bag gypsies after his home and farm were constantly robbed. He killed 1 but the other survived. He got life but the county went up in arms about it and was eventually freed. Google British farmer Mr Francis jailed for life for shooting dead and wounding 1 burglars. I'm sure it's Francis.

I wonder how many innocent people are in prison for murder because an aggressive prosecutor and lazy jury think the most likely suspect “probably did it” despite zero evidence? This is also a great example of how a 100% innocent person does not respond like armchair detectives think they should have and so those detectives ruthlessly deem that person guilty. Remember that the next time you hear an unsolved true crime case and it is inevitably said about a suspect, “they showed no emotion”.

I immediately thought the same. If it had turned out to be the fiancé there would have been numerous comments stating "I knew it was him as soon as I heard ...". Lindy Chamberlain taught me this lesson in my teens. People react differently. They can be weird. The can seem callous because they process shock and grief in different ways and some people just don't like to show emotion in public. Of course, I'm still guilty of gut reactions to things sometimes but I do try to pull myself back and remember not to judge on that alone. Thank heavens for the forensic evidence. @@fredajordan5704 The only thing that was strange was that he did not recognize she was dead or injured. However, we did not see exactly what he saw. There was blood on the bed but it was on the mattress. It was likely covered up by bedding when he looked in and therefore completely non visible. And people tend to think the mind is a recorder. It only takes a cursory look at eyewitness statements to illustrate how untrue that is. Five people within ten feet of a crime can have wildly different reports of what they saw even with obvious stuff like what color the perp was to whether or not he had a beard. To me the most likely explanation is expectation. No one walks in to their bedroom expecting to see a murdered family member on the floor. So unless there is something obvious you may not notice certain things. This is amplified in this case because he thought she was asleep and did not interact with her. I know I have had moments where I walked into the kitchen thinking my children would have left a mess and because of that expectation (and probably poor lighting) I actually saw the mess only to take a second look and turn the light to find it spotless. Most people have some comparable moment in their lives. He just had the misfortune to have a murder involved with his.

When someone is found guilty of murder, it should mean an automatic life sentence & by that I mean for the rest of their life, not a set tarriff of however many years. How many people have died because murderers have been freed? If you take someone's life away, you should forfeit the priviledge of walking the streets again. Now, I know there are grey areas & I'm not going to go into them, but in the majority of cases, a whole life sentence should be handed down.

The judge should have ordered that they had to listen to the victim statements. I've seen other defendants brought in restraints despite their protests. They keep appealing but how many murders need to be committed before they receive a life sentence?

I'm not oppossed to Public Executions for the most serious heinous crimes, if it's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt!!! Now I'm NOT heartless, they have 10 years to file their appeals, and do all that legal stuff, but there is no reason why someone who commits a crime 50 years ago should still be alive and living on the tax payers dime!!!

Its hows that shock can manifest in so many ways - that poor Fiance who was obviously numb and not reacting how others wanted could easily have been convicted in the past when forensic science was not as sophisticated. You can't take away from her family, but he was the one under the hammer for such a long time. Heartbreaking all round, just for trying to force people into drug trafficking.

Why would any legal team want to defend these evil “men” let alone put forward an appeal on their behalf. I know this isn’t anything to do with domestic violence but I can’t help thinking how Women are blamed for giving “men” too many chances but by God look at what the “justice”system does. Poor poor lady and her family.

I absolutely admire the work you do on your channel, I know it takes a lot of work and a lot of time to put these videos together, great work. Keep them coming, as I love the educational side of your true crime documentaries. To stab someone 90 times is absolutely disgusting, how could anyone do that to someone, especially in a home with children. I dare to think how that made them feel seeing their mother in that state and I dare to think how she felt at that time.....a life lost through that violence has caused so much pain to her and to the people that love her. I don't even know what to call someone who does something like that to someone, animals don't even do that....should never of been let out of prison, smirking away in court is just beyond cold, they should meet the same fate because once again it's a man/men against a woman and they know there was no chance for her to fight back, just discusting and weak. It really shows what type of scum they are, I hope they rot for the rest of their pathetic and disgusting lives.

What a terrible case! All my condolences to Franny's family and friends, specially to her daughters. It's so good that police did a very good job getting those monsters, but it's terrifying that there are actual humans able to commit these horrible acts of extreme violence just like that, not caring about anything, for such petty reasons, criminals who shouldn't be on the streets given their records... I hope things have changed over there regarding parole. Wishing the best for Franny's family.
