Uncovering the Dark Secrets of Trans-Allegheny Asylum

Is this place really haunted? FORGOTTEN WORLD goes on a paranormal hunt inside the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, also known as the Weston State Hospital located in Weston, West Virginia.
This is not a normal subject for FORGOTTEN WORLD but what we discovered inside was remarkable! Personally, I can’t help but remain skeptical of what our equipment captured and I work hard to rationally explain every so-called “event” we experienced. Some remain unexplainable (at least by us). Just because we cannot explain it, doesn’t mean IT IS A GHOST. It simply means we cannot explain it… Judge for yourself.
We would love to HEAR FROM YOU any explanations you might have for some of the things we witnessed and recorded on this night.
Built in 1858-1881, this sprawling complex was a psychiatric hospital. It aimed to provide care for individuals with mental illnesses but faced challenges of overcrowding and decline. Closed in 1994, it now stands as a preserved landmark and offers tours to visitors.
According to a few locals I met who once worked there, reports of hauntings go back to before this institutions closing. Since then many ghost hunting TV shows have ventured inside to record the supernatural phenomena said to be happening inside these walls.
A ghost hunt inside the Trans-Allegheny Asylum can be an eerie and thrilling experience. The heavy wooden doors creak open, revealing a dimly lit interior filled with long corridors, echoing footsteps, and a chilling atmosphere. The air is laden with a sense of history, despair, and the unexplained.
Equipped with EMF (Electromagnetic Field) detectors, EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) recorders, night vision cameras, and other ghost hunting tools, we spent the night inside this place.
Seeing the decaying patient rooms, where rusted bed frames and peeling wallpaper bear witness to the tormented lives that once occupied these spaces makes us reflect on the suffering here.
Our equipment seems to have recorded whispers and voices that seemed to echo from hidden corners (EVP). Shadows danced in the periphery of our vision, adding to the eerie ambiance.
The air felt charged, as our EMF detectors flicked and beeped erratically, indicating a significant electromagnetic presence. We captured numerous EVP and video recordings, watching and listening intently as voices and shadows from the beyond seemed to respond to our questions, creating a hair-raising connection to the spirits said to inhabit these halls.
Note: While the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum has a reputation for paranormal activity, it's important to remember that the existence of ghosts or spirits is a matter of personal belief.

Hey manno, great investigstion. Trans allegheny is definitely a creepy place. When i was a teenager, i was in a group of photographers, driving down to Mass and breaking in to old morgues, hospitals, sanitoriums, etc. Our creedo was Take Nothing but Photographs, Leave Nothing but Footprints. Bunch of creepy places, bunch of personal stories of ghosts and ghouls. Wish I could go out and do another hunt though. Keep up the good work, and they will come. Be well!
