Unclogging Lake Drain After A Ton Of Rain

"I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, Unclog anything or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training". I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have Been Trained In culvert inspections for years with private co) osha trained,
:Exploring Abandoned Anything can be dangerous or Deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks & responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. Their could be nails, Asbestos, Falling concrete soft floors, animals or other hazards. Just another beautiful area where you live. So fortunate you are. The river was so nice with the water passing over the rocks and the lake so nice with the mountain and farmers house in the background. The culvert with the belching water. Have not seen the before. Definitely only saw the optical illusion on the water grate in the lake. So pretty in the Autumn. Thank you again Post. ♥️

while the drain itself looks about the right size to maintain normal operation for handling the water level. when they finally go to replace the damaged exit pipe they should consider increasing the size of the pipe slightly. so it can handle any surplus water during heavy rain storms or from the freeze/thaw cycles so it causes less of an issue later on.

  • @LoveShaysloco

Yep, yep! Was gonna say that too. And it also doesn't rely on a check valve on the inlet that somebody has to come out and open and close. Just make sure the outlet is bigger than the inlet and there ya go! Oh, and that the inlet is up high enough to maintain lake level.

Thank you for bringing us this very interesting and informative video, it is very impressive to see the lake drain. The culvert was certainly working hard and the sounds were very interesting. You are right to say that there is a lot of work to be done hereabouts to prevent much more serious problems in the future. One would hope that the authorities would realise that the status quo cannot continue.
