Unclogging A Tough Beaver Dam And Dismantling Log Jam On Severely Damaged Roadway
I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

I remember when you were all quiet when you do your unclogging. I appreciate you giving us a commentary now in your videos. As always, good job.
"The ants are ready to attack, I can see the stance they are taking." Your casual comments crack me up.
A lengthy dam removal. A lot of labor, but excellent water flow. Thank you for your labors today. Thank you 10! 😊
You were talking about your decision to start uploading in 4k, and I just wanted to give feedback and say there is a noticeable difference, like being able to see the first flows of water coming through, or the individual bits of stuff floating in the water. The 4k uploads and the extra time it takes is much appreciated
Who got excited when Post 10 decided to tear the blockage from the downstream side? I did! It’s so relaxing to watch. Thank you for your hard work Post 10!

"Mooooooooooove" -- this is the first time I could really feel post suffering for his videos/hobby/craft. Kudos.
I'm so strangely proud of those beavers for their construction of that dam. They did a good job.

They try their best to improve the habit. I would like to see what could be if someone manage more were the realesed water goes. maybe this can be also content for future Videos and the build Up and realse could be very valuable for the trees and nature in an area. I really enjoy post videos and think its good work and chill to watch.
The way he yelled "MoOoOoOoVE!!!" is how I sound in traffic.
I love how you make us feel like we are helping you and explain what you are doing. Makes me feel like I am there with a buddy 🙂
I'm so happy im not the only one that rages when it's hot. I just can't handle it.
I’m so happy you got a new truck , better suited to the hard and valuable volunteer work you do , keep up the great work I love watching what you do and your valuable explanations that help educate us on many aspects of unblocking culverts.
The way he reacted to the heat when he was inside the culvert is the same way I react to the Texas heat when I walk outside😂 Great work as always Post10!
I lost count after 42 huge branches. You are a very hard working young man. Saving $$$$ on washed out roads!
Every beaver in the world knows about Post10, a man of legend with his new partner Ghost10.
I'm a damn child. I laughed when he said "Doing it wet is so much easier than doing it dry."🤣
25m15s to 26m15s was my favourite footage/camera angle. I've not seen it before. You at the end of the pipe and the camera in the water enabling us to see the silt-streaked water pulled into the pipe. Beautiful, thanks.

I would love to hear the story of how this became your passion and perhaps the story of the first time you unclogged a drain and had that "ahh hah!" moment.

"Doing it wet, is so much easier than doing it dry"........truer words have never been spoken my friend ;-P
Seeing the water flow all the way through the woods is so satisfying...
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. So many people are following your lead now , loads of unclogging channels have started as a result of you. Water management is vital , especially in populated areas / settlements . Well done you for starting this trend 👍👍
Those beever's never cease to amaze me! The size of some of those branches were unbelievable! Good job on taking down the dam and the jam up down stream, made a huge difference thats for sure. Excellent job all around! 💯👍😎
Beavers are incredible creatures. Seeing you clear these drains shows how much they can do in such a small amount of time. I love your explanation of what you are doing. Thank you for these postings.
Really getting into the psychology of beavers, love it man. Keep it up.
Very satisfying. Please make sure you drink plenty of water in the heat, dehydration and heatstroke suck 💜
This is why I follow your content. You really put a lot of work in this. Great work.
I like it when camera 2 becomes camera 1 lol
"Beavers incoming," reported one culvert to another. "Well I'll be dammed!"
The amount of joy I get when I hear "big high boots" is so great. Thank you Post for all the good you do!
I love hearing you hype yourself up inside the pipe! 😀
I'm always fascinated by the connections YT makes between videos. I got here from a suggestion off SB Mowing, but I enjoy both channels because I find them relaxing, almost meditative to watch. There's something very satisfying to watch a blockage getting cleared and all that water flowing through.
Red ants are no joke; I appreciate your dedication in dealing with them as part of this video!
Man, Beavers are such fascinating creatures. They were extinct where I live, until the 1990s when the government resettled some and apparently they are making a strong comeback.

That’s because beavers are what’s known as a keystone species which means they are essential to the survival of the ecosystem (and the planet). They create wetlands which is the foundation for all other species. Also, if they would reintroduce thousands of beavers back into California they wouldn’t have nearly as many forest fires or mudslides .

I love the way you never give up. There was so much long sticks in that culvert it was hard to fathom that was only two weeks. Good job. 👍👍👍
I love that you're not afraid of hard work. Great unclogging, and as always our beautiful New England as a backdrop, only gets better 😊
It’s fascinating how the sticks are so smooth and straight. Those beavers are amazing
Nice work with the unclogging posty!
What a site to see you must be stoked at the ducks in the pond you built makes it all worth while another great project Travis keep up the great work made me smile for sure
I haven't seen your posts for a while as I've been working.Good vibes from the UK.
As an infection control nurse, I have often wondered the same thing about certain bacteria’s and such. He does seem to like his hands/person being clean though. Respectable young man. What a work ethic!
WOW!! Good job! Beavers are so impressive! I can't believe the sheer number of long logs they stuck in there! They must be very strong!
Yesterday we had 12 in. of rain in less than 24 hours! Everything flooded and all the roads near me were closed. The crews down in south Alabama had done a good job keeping the culverts and ditches clear. Woke up to a dry yard that had been 2 ft. deep in water! I thought about you a lot!
Love the videos, especially the garden stuff on your other channels! I think you might be overdue for another Q&A. Would love to know more about your property, home, and your plans for it!
Doing it again with no holds bared and red ants avoiding you and was impressive to see how far in you went in.. Doing the exit clearance did make a big difference of how faster the water flowed and clearing the dam bit by bit. Top rate video again.
Always fascinating to watch you clear beaver’s dams.
I love what you do/unclogging culverts & drains for the environment, but it’s amazing how the beavers 🦫 move such large trees and wedge them together w/mud, etc. Such intriguing animals, how they do what they do to survive & can help in some way as well. Your knowledge has helped me appreciate them & You! Great content!! Ty 💕
Post you did extremely well with that unblock. Lots of puffing and panting and energy used. Thanks for sharing with us. We'd have nothing to watch on our lunch break if it wasn't for you. Thanks again man.👍👍
Great camera view of inside the culvert. Love your work mate
I would never laugh at you for doing some small mistake like the strap on the waders. Dude, you are just wonderfull.
Feller, let me tell ya something…you do you and quit worrying about what others think! You are someone that I could have a good wholesome conversation with. Much respect!
I love watching you work and listening to your explanation about the beavers and currents etc. You should take some of those long straight sticks home and while you're sitting around your campfire listening to the frogs, you could carve them. :) This road is very much like the road I grew up on... I love it!! Thanks for sharing!
Great job clearing the culvert and glad you took care of the cluster of debris.
I've watched post10 for years but this is the most satisfying I've ever watched
I love camera 2 I love watching stuff start breaking free and washing through
There's your regular KZread videos and then there's the beautiful simplicity of Post10. Great video and service to your local community.
Always fascinating to watch you clear beaver’s dams.. Always fascinating to watch you clear beaver’s dams..
Love the accurate angles you gave me. It’s like I was actually present looking on. Thank you much.
After watching a few of these unclog the beaver dam videos, the question occurs to me : Why use corrugated pipe where beaver dams are a problem? The corrugations allow the wood log pieces and mud and debris to "lock onto" the pipe interior. If a smooth bore pipe were used, blockages would slide through. Of course, logs placed across the entrance would still block the water flow, but a smooth bore pipe would make it easier to dismantle and dispose of the dam.
Living in Vegas now missing all that comes with water. So nice to take a little virtual vacation into your area, Post 10!
I appreciate all that you go through to give us this fabulous content. You're the best!
Hey post looks like one of the most difficult unclogging you have done? I didn't laugh that you hadn't fastened your belt. I was trying to call out to you and tell you that it was getting wet. You did an amazing job🎉
My garden cultivator is 55 inches long. I keep the grate at the bottom of a dam on Thorndike Brook, Ragged Mountain Maine. After heavy rain, the swamp grass gets on it. The dam is 9 feet high with a 7 foot high spillway in the middle and it is 70 years old. They installed an aluminium footbridge that spans the entire dam 3 years ago. But the grate on the upstream side of the base of the dam is heavy iron bars and it is 70 years old also from when the dam was built. The grate is 5 feet high and 4 feet wide with iron bars 6 inches apart up and down.
Clearing the debris on the exiting side of the pipe sure did make the water flow much faster!
Thanx for the update Post 10. Hello grandpa.
Listening to the rain hitting the windshield sounds so good. Thanks for showing the road damage.
Thank you for all you're hard work loving all your videos ❤ from uk
I love how you over explain things even my son's Simple Jack can understand
We witnessed beavers building and maintaining their newly built lakes in Michigan’s UP. It was a learning experience.
yes, some of them do look like they'd make lovely walking sticks. I bet you could sell them to a wood carver who makes walking/hiking sticks. dang beavers are really busy critters! I love watching nature stuff and this is really great what you do to help keep things working nicely. God bless!
Glad you opened the channel, too! That was 👍great!! Thank you! I think you heard me answer you..."MOTION" 🤣
Very thorough job there Post! Always fascinating to see both sides of the road, and to hear your commentary. Thanks.
awesome cleanout! I'm guessing with the size/length of the limbs you took out, that they were going to make that one HUGE dam
That was like the never ending beaver dam!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the new video post.

post10: “the beavers won’t even see me doing this” beavers staring at post10 dismantling their dam
Great clearing Post, sometimes one has to create good water movement vs the ones you don't cause water shouldn't be stagnant good water moves, and keeps on making the world a better place. I stood outside during a short monsoon in BC Canada was lovely cool air!

Water retention by beaver dams and log jams are a crucial part of the health of any land, especially those in drought areas - the longer flows help create so much habitat for fish and other species. Moreover, woody debris is an integral for river health and erosion control. It is not only natural, but critical for the health functions of the river / forest. The only problem is when human infrastructure gets in the mix. This is why Post stopped dismantling dams and jams, as long as they don't endanger human structures! It does make me sad to see so many other channels that remove these important tools for water management without discrimination.

That road looks well maintained. Good job with the unclogging.
Beaver Jenga! The lengths of those branches was impressive! Stay hydrated my friend. I'm so glad you like the spiders too!
Ok I just have to say a great big thank you for making and sharing these wonderful videos. I have been watching Midwest cleeaning and still am bt that guy said to try your site out. Boy I am thankful I did. I am an older lady that is addicted to watching you do this work and it is so positive and so increibly well done.
I love these videos so much they're great to watch and listen to!
“You see me going slow..” I was watching at 1.25 speed and you were going pretty fast 😂
Enjoyed watching the video Post 10 😊
Hard WORKING young man....I would HIRE you in a SECOND!!! I've pulled beaver dams out and you are hardcore!!!
i think it would be great if you showed your current car when you got your new truck. Of course only if you sell your current car and don't keep it. I think many would be happy about a revelation and a "guided tour"! dont get me wrong, i highly appreciate that you keep it private so far.
Excellent video. Thank you for educating us.
Really fun watching you clear this culvert today. An additional tool that you might consider is a 3 inch grapple hook on a 30 foot stout rope. you could use such a tool to clear clogs that are hard to reach in larger culverts. Additionally, perhaps you could get a telescopic tree saw that is about 12 feet long extended. You could also make a wood pole out of 2 inch dowl that is in 6 foot sections. I made one of those to clear snow off of my roof and it works well. Keep on having fun on your adventures!!!
This is the second time I'm watching this one, still loved it!😂
Great footage angles to day, seeing you at both ends.
Post 10 you are a force of nature.
That was another big one. That must have been very hot in the culvert. You're working well again my friend. Take care.
Thank you for the video Post. The color of your truck attracts heat ❤😊
Clearing out the debris of all the old clogs really really helped. 👍
Looks like I have some afternoon watching to do! Thanks for the videos
The rake can’t be turned around inside the pipe! That‘s actually hilarious. I never thought about that 😊
Thank you very much for what you do for the environment. I enjoy watiching your videos from Guam where we do not have anything like this. You are doing an exceptionally outstanding job for the environment and for this great country. Take care and God Bless You!!!
you just said it ..Walking Sticks...in your off time ahahaha Very satisfying, so glad you cleared the build up on the other side.
Really have been enjoying your channel over the Father’s Day weekend and today, my day off. Learned more about beavers than in school. May I suggest that you bring two yard sticks affixed to a strong stick or spike one on each side of the culvert. That way we can get a better idea of inches lost. Lol. Just a thought. Keep doing you.
Satisfaction! Thanks!!🙂
