    Growing up, my parents went through something similar, except my dad's issue was not alcohol. His issue was having a mistress and making her a priority over us, his family. I can relate to Jase's story. I appreciate you sharing. I also blocked most of my childhood memories, and I am a loner too. As I was sitting there, one of the things that really struck me was the awesomeness of God. God took Phil's passion for the woods, for creation, and turned that into a passion for His glory, so all that Phil did from the land was to God's glory.

    Talking about their granny feeding anybody that came by is part of life in that area. I drove truck for several years hauling baby chicks to chicken farms. In that part of Louisiana, southern Arkansas, Mississippi and east Texas, most farmers would insist you come eat breakfast or would bring breakfast out to the truck. We always delivered very early morning.

    The way you have crazy faith is to get closer to God and to see Him work throughout your life. In order to get closer to God you will probably have to go through hard times. Pressure creates diamonds; by heating up a precious metal you make it more pure. Delve into the Word, go to church, make friends with real Christians (the ones whose faith is real, not just foe show or those whose faith comes only when they're in trouble). And faith in God doesn't come all at once; it takes baby steps in order to have great faith. Little by little our faith grows (our daily walk with God). God bless you. I sincerely hope you draw closer to God in your Christian walk.

I know when The Passion came out, it didn’t come to our town until our church pulled together with other churches. I was a teenager so I’m not sure what all they did behind the scenes but within 6 weeks, they had showings in our town at our church, an hour away west and an hour away south at two other churches, and pretty soon, the local movie theaters caught on and premiered it

    Unfortunately I’ve thought for years and this is really showing Jase really still has a lot of unresolved issues. God please help him through the movie and all the family!!!

    Well, if you have that sort of a childhood, you will have unresolved issues. My dad had a bad childhood and he still has issues, and he is 60. He has with God's help worked through a lot of them but he will still have some, probably til he goes to Heaven.

    They’re not unresolved, sometimes it takes a lifetime to work thru some traumas.

    How our families can relate with this

  • @kris_ten_3
    @kris_ten_38 ай бұрын

    Thanks to your whole family for sharing your stories and experiences,& the testimony of Phil. Im excited to see the movie haven’t seen it yet. Y’all are good at telling stories and communicating. Your show duck dynasty always brought me encouragement and uplifted my spirit y’all are so funny and it helps so much during these difficult times to just laugh sometimes. Love your passion for Jesus and unashamed podcast it’s awesome. This has really moved me because my father has a similar background. I’m still praying for him. He knows about God, the Bible and Jesus but I’m not sure he has really surrendered his life and heart to the Lord. Full repentance. I’ve always had a distant relationship with him. Hearing what y’all have said and the movie has given me so much hope that God can reach my dad. I’ve thought he will never change and I can’t imagine him different. But yes no one is ever to far and I still believe God is working on my dads heart. I even gave him a book a year or two ago that was written by Phil. I’m not sure if he read it or not. But I am still praying for him. I believe we are living in the last days and it has been on my heart more strongly now about these things. No coincidence this movie came out when it did and that God is no doubt using it to reach the lost and spread hope. Thank you again to all of you

    @@vanmoodyI know, I have thought the same. But think about this. If not for Zach's mother Jane never giving up on Phil? I find Jane and Miss Kay the strong ones to never give up on someone. Love your comment.

    Very true. Si said she was the one who got on all the other family members for giving up on Phil. And of course she is the one who dragged Bill Smith to the bar to talk to Phi by badgering him till he wentl. @@stephenkarla7113
