Thanks! I couldn't believe I bounced back so fast as well. It took some work but was worth it. I'm in the same boat as you, once I bought a packraft, it totally opened up new routes that I thought would be impossible...

An epic journey! Lucky? I would say so with the difficulties you faced before the trip but all went well and the trip turned out to be a spectacular one! The culture camp sounded absolutely wonderful. It must have been such a positive experience to spend time there, very cool. I love that you dedicated the trip to your Mom. I'm happy you enjoyed the series. It was fun to make, that's for sure. The culture camp was amazing, I filmed a bunch of it but after a few hours it just didn't seem like the effort to capture was worth sacrificing any of the experience, so I just enjoyed it. Instead, I made some very good friends. Yep, this one goes out to my mom :)

Oh yeah, I did an unbelievable amount. I knew the route and canyons so well before I even got there that I had my maps memorized. But I also thoroughly enjoy the planning process, so it's super fun for me to do.

Great trip man! very nice video work. What a beautyful river. reminds me of my favorite river here in norway, only much bigger scales.

Bit lost for words mate, you did extremely well at taking us on the adventure with you. Your risk assessment, the journey to get there, the narration all make the series thoroughly enjoyable. Some of the best packrafting on youtube! For context, I live in Victoria Australia, I watched the first 2 episodes, then did a local class 2 run with my brothers and my 4 year old son, all on packrafts. Then came back to finish the series. Very motivating. Thanks for sharing

Coincidentally, my family is on their way to Australia right now, should be landing in Sydney in a few hours...long haul from up here. Sounds like a great family outing playing in some fun waves. Congrats on completing this amazing adventure! We enjoyed this series, the scenery was awesome, the river looked like a lot of fun and I can't believe how tough a little inflatable raft can be. The caribou water crossing from an earlier episode was some national geographic kind of stuff, really cool. We use a couple cheaper go-pro knockoffs but we carry a cheap Canon 1080p handheld that has a decent optical zoom when we do shorter trips for the 'beauty' shots, it'll get you the cool craters on the moon shots and stuff like that. It's small and light enough we would take it all the time but it's pre USB charging. You don't get the amazing 4k 60fps quality but its much better than a digitally zoomed cellphone. You could get a similar quality zoom to the phone footage in editing with the go pro footage sometimes.

Thanks so much. I had a blast out there. I've been using those packrafts for a few years and still can't believe how tough they are. I'll have to do some research on cameras, I do use the digital zoom option on the gopro and the phone but you lose quality so fast, sounds like a separate camera is the key.
