I am ambidextrous aswell and fish left and right hand retrieve. To help you might like to use a sweeping hook set. Reel in slack line and pivot at the hips and ski the fish in reel reel reel. Similar to fishing big swim baits for huge fish. Will take the effort off your healing shoulder.

I definitely don’t expect anything from you but i just wanted to say thank you for your service first of all and thank you for being a inspiration to my son and keeping him interested in fishing. I just watched the video with U and Norm usin this massive MTB, lots of cool lures. A lot I already own and use quite often.
