Make sure you go to the "Q" menu and set the drive mode to "Self-timer: 10sec/remote." The remote will not work otherwise.

0:33 The HG-100TBR isn't heavy, but it's also not flimsy or insubstantial. It has just enough heft to feel solid and robust, I think.

can you please let me know whether you are able to zoom in and out with this remote controller?

I had the same problem with the remote not wanting to take a picture rather than a video so im going to check it out tonight see if your method works but for taking pictures instead.

Once its paired, check the “Drive mode” on the Quick Menu Screen. It should be set to the Self timer mode where it says, “Remote can be used”. I’ve had the same problem and it worked for me. Hope this helps!

Hi. My camara is shooting video with the remote control, but is not taking pictures.... It's paired.... I followed all the steps... I just don't know what's going on. Can you help?

Thanks. So does the 'W' & 'T' work to zoom in and out? Or will the remote only trigger the shutter? Just bought this and quite disappointed over this lousy remote. Had a Canon Vixia which had a great remote. Guess Canon doesn't care about that anymore.

Heads up, this doesn’t work with the Canon 80d as your camera will need to have Bluetooth.
