I finally got mine! My only complaint is the cape. Like most Masterverse capes, it's a terrible translucent triangle of cheap fabric. Keeps a perfect figure from being a true 10/10. But I went to the fabric store, bought a big square of fabric, cut out a 14" shape for a cape, cut a small hole in the middle, and boom! So much better.

98% of the time I'm a Classics purist (that's almost a contradictory statement 😂) ... but this figure is absolutely outstanding. It might be the best Masterverse figure so far. Thanks for the great review!

Indeed, New Adventures Skeletor aside, Classics has indeed made some truly awesome figures. And I just adore their Filmation line and the William Stout collection. But Masterverse definitely knocked it out if the park with New Adventures Skeletor. Thanks so much for the nice words! Appreciate it! 🙂

My fav skeletor.. I used a chrome pen to paint the rest of his cybernetic parts. He received the Darth Vader treatment

I don't know why, because I have no nostalgia for the NA cartoon, but I have always loved the redesign for both Skeletor and He-Man. I definitely want this figure.

Agreed! Something is just really cool and intriguing about this design. I was actually really hoping that this New Adventures Skeletor would mirror Skeletor / Skeletek's look in Masters of the Universe: Revolution, after being infected with Motherboard's techno-virus. I really thought it would be an amazing way to pull both elements of these shows together. Alas, so far, no such luck.

This is an awesome figure! The face sculpt alone is first class. The classics one although I did like at the time just looks terrible now ten years later.

Agreed! And indeed, while Classics is awesome, a lot of fans have felt the Classics New Adventures Skeletor hasn't aged as well as their other figures.

still waiting for the NA He-Man in the rest of the world xD I don't like the way that type of cape grip looks on the neck, but the rest of the figure is very good, surely we can manage something so that it does not look so botched

I wish he had a soft plastic cape rather than cheap fabric as it always looks strange when everything else on a figure is sculpted plastic then it has a bit of cloth stuck on the back. Great seeing more New Adventures figures though. I'm still disappointed we didn't get all the Galactic Guardians and Mutants in Classics. The Classics Skeletor had a great head sculpt and I like how the chest plate has a skull look and the cape attaches to it so it looks less like a toy cape. But the fat torso is awful!

I am actually a fan of cloth capes on plastic figures, especially when they are wired, but I definitely get your point of view. And indeed, even though I couldn't personally get past those exploding muscles on the Classics New Adventures Skeletor figure, I did really like his head sculpt too. So cool! 🙂

@@foreterniaofficial I never think cloth capes look right as they don't have the weight that life size capes do so don't have the folds and creases. Especially when it's next to sculpted details on the clothing on the figure which isn't fabric. It really stands out that it's just a bit of fabric. Also kinda weird to me having one but of clothing fabric and the rest plastic? I know most toy collectors seem to love the cloth goods but I just never got it.

OMG why did classics make that figure like the Hulk?

​@@Charmander009The problem was instead of re-sculpting the body with the cybernetic stuff they went the cheaper route and sculpted armor that looked like a new chest and put it over the body.

They didn’t always have the budget to do unique sculpting - especially for torsos etc. Masterverse has a larger budget as the line is released at retail

@@sunnyshine2215 I'd say it was less about budget and more about priorities and where funds were chosen to be allocated. Scott was insistent on including that Terminator style Faker head with that Skeletor.

Great review! Not a big fan of the ring cape. Definitely needs a custom cape with bendy wires would do this Skeletor wonders!!

What stands do you use for them?

Question/observation: Is it possible to angle/tilt the helmet? Because on the artwork, the vintage and classic, it seems like the flat bottom part is more parallel to his face. On Masterverse, it seems to rest on his head at an odd angle that resembles a mushroom.

Hmm. I am not personally seeing the issue you are seeing, but you can tilt the helmet more forward as well as backwards, and while it doesn't feel like its natural resting place, it will stay in place. 🙂

@@foreterniaofficial if I could share pictures, I could illustrate what I mean. But if I could find a way to put it in more descriptive illustrative terms... His helmet position reminds me of an Asian conical hat. I feel like The "holes" on the side of his head are aimed more downward. When in the artwork, previous figures, and cartoon, the "holes" are facing more forward. As it currently sits, it looks more like the top/head of one of the Toadstool/Mushroom People (Toads) from Super Mario Bros
