I think it has something to do with using the hot water most use in the shower... But I could have misunderstood it. Oof I didn't wash mine in the shower, it wouldn't get washed.

It’s something about the hot water temp. Like you wash your body with hotter water than you’d get from the sink. Like someone else said, if I didn’t wash my face in the shower, it would never happen LOL

While I would LOVE to see more fashion videos, I've also been thinking a lot about something you said in one of your fashion vids about honouring and giving space for "girly" things such as fashion and makeup and leaning into feminine interests. I would love to hear you talk more about this. I know it's not your usual sort of video but you're always very eloquent and good at articulating your thoughts so I'm sure it would be very interesting to hear.

I've been following Hannah since the beginning of her no buy year and seeing someone so intelligent be interested in beauty has been amazing for me! Here in the french countryside only 'bimbos' like fashion and make up so learning that I could like fashion and make up and not have that take away from intelligence was a really big thing. ♥️

I discovered your channel shortly before your maternity break and have been enjoying it. After taking one of the last classes in home ec in high school where I learned to use a sewing machine and make my own clothes, I pretty much ignored fashion and beauty/makeup for decades. Clothes were usually mail-order because I hated to shop (body self-esteem issues), and makeup was usually only a bit of eye shadow, blush, and lip gloss. Within the last year, I am rediscovering an interest in things "girly". After a career in engineering and IT, it's been fun to play with fashion from an artistic standpoint and apply such disciplines as color theory to my wardrobe. And being retired and in my sixties, it is never too late to take care my skin. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of choices in all categories be it clothing, skin care, or makeup. Any advice along those lines is appreciated.

So glad you‘re back! Your maternity leave coincided with the last two months of my Masters thesis, and the supercuts were some of the only videos I could put on during coding, just cozy things I already know but keeping me company while I‘m doing other things with most of my brain. And to have you fully back when I‘m also back in normal life is just so nice :)

I swear I do the same thing of setting out to do minimal makeup after a stint of not wearing it to then feeling my oats too much and ending up full glam eyes 😅 also when you were gone I came to the conclusion that I am also a desaturated olive undertone, so your old videos on that have been immensely helpful!

The L'Occitane, MOB, and Tower 28 interest me the most. They just released that Make Waves mascara in brown if you end up liking the formula.

Cloud Gazer is one of my favorite candles of all time! It’s essentially a London Fog tea latte in a candle

Coconut oil: So, for me, I have body acne. Coconut oil is considered antibacterial. When I have a breakout I use this after a shower and by morning my acne will be nearly gone (bigger spots take another treatment or two to heal). My husband did research for me because nothing was working - I'd tried so many products. But this works every time for me! And my skin is always silky and glorious after. I have actually done facial treatments as well. It didn't work as well on my face though. But, in the winter months, I'll put some on like a mask in the shower - where things are humid and warm - and then wash it off. This really helps when I have been outside and get wind burn or dry patches around my nose. I would venture the guess that it really depends on what is causing the acne. I have cystic acne, if that helps anyone. Also, I do know that for some folks coconut oil can be irritating, so that's something to consider.

Makeup continues to be my down time and self expression, the time in which I can be only myself for a few moments, since having my first child five years ago. It’s my morning meditation. Love seeing you back! You are forever changed, but somehow still the same❤

I’ve used l’Occitane immortale formula and some other products from them. The oil serum is excellent for winter dryness for me. You have everyday dryness. I’m sure you’ll like it. The shae butter hand lotion and the body butter are excellent. Great to see you slipping back on line again.

I’ve used the L’Occitane face oil, and I loved it. My skin isn’t particularly dry, but I didn’t find it to be too heavy or rich.

Mob beauty: I will be very interested to hear about the mascara and cream shadows. I’ve seen Jessica Haze (who works with Mob) set the cream shadows with a light amount of translucent powder

LMAO SO - Scuttlebutt (lovingly nicknamed Scuzzlebutt) was the name of my youngest brother’s childhood hamster. One day my brother took him out of his cage and somehow he got through a hole in the wall and disappeared. So we eventually bought my brother a new hamster, which he named “Scuttlebutt 2”, and the original scuttlebutt returned. And then the distinction between “scuzzle” and “scuttle” became very necessary 😂

Ursa Major is amazing! I'd have to say, though, that mountain glow is something I've sampled from them that I didn't really like. It leaves an oily film over the face that lasts at least an hour or two. It somehow didn't break me out.

I used the immortelle oil serum on my face for years! I have dry/combo cystic acne prone skin, and my skin drank it up. The only reason i stopped was that it became cost prohibitive during my most recent maternity leave. The eye cream (gold bottle) I could take or leave, but the serum was like liquid happiness for my face ❤

Ha! Scuttlebutt has become frequently used and even a soundboard clip on Race Chaser, Alaska and Willam’s podcast! Of course you would be aligned 🙌

My husband and I say a random "It's a big step Perry!" from Home Movies when we're making decisions. There are echoes of every parent returning to work from the baby bubble in this video and you did it so eloquently and radiantly as always. ❤ You are integrating different selves which takes time. But with each time you stop recording, have a snack, and then pick up your bb, it will all feel cohesive and natural.

Shelbey Wilson is a KZreadr who highly recommends that Ursa Major serum. I bought it but haven’t tried it yet. She has very sensitive skin, so if she loves it, it is probably not pore clogging. Hope that helps! I would love to see you use the mob beauty products!

Just don’t use super hot water. I often do it at the end, after turning the water temperature down, then immediately apply an essence to my damp face upon exiting.

Each time I go to place an order I like to do a lot of research beforehand and when indecisive on a particular brush, or need to know more about its function, particular details like density or how similar brushes in the collection compare to one another etc it would be nice to have a video going through the whole collection one by one to reference back to. I’m often scouring through old vids of yours to see if I can catch a glimpse of the brushes in use to figure which techniques the work best with or just how they look on application (which is also really helpful.)

I second that on the self care and brushes. Have used "scuttlebutt" for years. Come to find out (on NCIS of all things) the word came out of the Navy and is essentially the Navy's term for watercooler and onboard gossip.

I may have found a drugstore dupe for velvet dragon! Maybelline super stay matte ink in Innovator. The outer component does not match the actual product inside. Its a nice fluffy formula and it is def the closest match I can come up with. Depending on the application density, you can get different effects and it looks wonderful with a blurred edge which I was so glad to see you do too! I have been bingeing your content since it first came up on my feed days ago. YOU ARE THE BEAUTY QUEEN I NEEDED.
