    Thanks for sharing . They’re good stones for me so far . I think I like the ease of diamonds with no soapy water but the finish of the Venev @50-60 microns seems good . Also the 80-100 microns seems to hone very well and the 80 feels like a 150 to me but the way they remove the steel is smoother than the gritty diamonds . I don’t even use pressure with Diamonds , just the weight of the bar mostly .

    Ursa is for recurved blades. You need the Venev centaur stones those are the 1×6. I have the centaur series now im getting ready to get the Ursa set. Good unboxing. Would have been nice to know what types of leather the strops are. I use the Hapstone RS and Venev Centaur stones for a strop i have a 2×8 paddle with tooling leather on it and 1 micron stroppy stuff. Cant wait to get my Ursa stones so I can do recurves.

    If the Recurve is deep, they have an actual convex shaped stone the same width as narrow stoned here but no sharp corner to put a nick in the edge. Nice for putting a mirrored edge on a fully sharpened swedge on a Bowie as well. ;

    Really like the Venev stones. I got a Hapstone R2 lite and use Venev Orion stones from 150 to 1200. I usually use 240 and 400 then strop.

    Do you still have them and did you purchase 1"? I'm buying the same stones and I don't know if I should buy 2 stone centaur ( F240/400 F800/1200) or for same price 3 stones URSA type (F80/150 F240/400 F800/1200)?

    There is a Hapstone holder for the KME that allows use of many stones. It also with KME adjustment for thickness, allows use of quarter inch balsa strops. These are the same stones I just got, should work on recurves. They are thin though. I like sharpening videos

    Narrow stones are usefull for recurve blades. Also if you sharpen a lot of skinners there will not be much difference between narrow and regular size stones. They are good to have

    Your better of with those. The wider ones don’t like to stay in the Hapstone r2.
