Steijn van Kuijk ehhh idk where you find a Fanatec DD wheel base for less that $1,000usd 😂 maybe for their regular belt drive it’s like $600usd but if you want a Direct Drive base. That’s over $1,000 without the wheel and pedals

@@xfinitytv2111 My personal favorite sim is Automobilista because of the amazing amount of content that use the rfactor engine and the ease of converting them to work with AMS. But for people starting out AC and PC2 is the easiest entry point.

There's some footage out there of Ayrton Senna in a deck chair imagining driving and changing gear, the same thing you were at the end of the video. Might be nice to develop some racing skills before you crash into a wall irl. You can easily get started with a rig for like $200. No need to jump straight in with midrange hardware and a full cockpit.

lmao i bought a drift car for 2k. Paid 1k for the car, 300$ for used coils, paid someone 100$ to weld the diff, got a bucket seat + bracket for $200, and i got some cool wheels for $500.

Because he can exchange them for different games or different cars. For example he probably uses the drifting wheel for dirt rally or the BMW wheel when he uses a BMW in AC

i`m not bashing the PS4. It just doesn`t have any actual serious racing sims, except assetto corsa, which still is the lesser version to the PC one. PCars was always criticized for its physics. I`m saying if you have a ballin racing sim rig, why not actually use it with actual serious racing sim games like iRacing, rFactor or AC

Lerm you missed my point. I'm talking about how realistic they are, not about fun es huh one gives. Pcars even tough is not the best it has much more realistic physics than GT or forza, that's why it's kinda wasted. If you buy a mid-top range Sim racing cockpit and use it to play simcades like forza or GT it's wasting all of the potential, in my opinion... Why buy the most realistic setup if you are playing simcades? Just buy a logitech weel, you are probably going to have the same/more fun with a 300$ setup, that's what I wanted to say :D

Fanatec has been a great company to buy sim equipment from. I dont got money for all their stuff but the clubsport v3s you will like. I have them with a Thrustmaster TS PC Racer wheel on my Obutto Ozone rig. I use it all for the iRacing World Championship Grand Prix Series broadcasted by iRacing and Racespot. I run for PSR aka Positive Sim Racing.

So jealous! Well deserved...enjoy.

Yes, but there are reasons for it. Build quality being the biggest part. I doubt you'd need to replace any of this for at least a few years.

@@Mateolouden Depends on what you're doing. If you're doing drifting for example, breaking things is usually inevitable, it's just a question on when. Especially when you consider the cost of tyres, entrance fees for tracks etc. It adds up. If you're just using it for general driving, then yes, buying a car is generally cheaper. But that's not what a sim is really used for my most people. The experience is always going to be better IRL. But of course heaps more expensive.

@@oku1317 I understand what your saying but the problem is racing gear is really expensive for example, in this video he unboxes 5,000 dollars worth of equipment. I know you can get some for cheaper but they generally have a lesser experience you have to spend alot. Add another 1,000 for a PC and monitor then set aside about 100 for games spare parts ect that puts you over 6,000 for an experience that wont be as good as a decent second hand car. You could easily buy a second hand for 5,000 or below and set aside 1000 for repairs, events, gas ect and get an experience that would be hard to replicate from a sim worth over 100,000 dollars

@@Mateolouden I mean that's if you're starting from nothing. My setup, for example, is roughly £500 give or take for the sim alone. I use a Thrustmaster T300 base (bought it by itself for £230), G920 pedals and shifter, some DIY handbrake (around £50 for all the parts) and a cheap ebay wheel (£50). Desk was £75 and that's how I mount mine. But I do solely drifting. This setup isn't ideal for racing at all, nor do I enjoy it. I've had a PC for a year, way before I started using a sim. The setup in this video is super overkill, and most people won't be able to afford something like this. Sim setups are used to practice or to just have fun. I'm not legally aloud to drive yet, so getting a real car is out the question. But it's more the long term cost. Tyres are expensive, breaking parts of your car is expensive and sometimes hard to replace, so it's very hard to maintain for a long time without a bunch of money. Whereas a sim setup is usually a one time purchase that will last a few years depending on what you get and how you treat it. Not to mention, buying a PC opens up so many doors, and would most likely not just be used for the sim.

That's what I want for Christmas

you can buy a extremely expensive racing simulator. or get a real car.

I find these sims a little excessive when they get higher up the thousands but then I don't really like racing so idk.
