Yep. Definitely a little confusing, but what RC4WD lacks in instructions, they make up for in scale details. Really love the attention to detail in this truck.

Everything except the year is correct. The movie truck was an 85 model.

It's a gorgeous truck, it's one of the 1/10th scale crawlers I always wanted. But I ain't paying $699., for that. If I'm going to spend that much money, I'll buy the Traxxas High Trail Edition Chevy C10. And at $550 for that, I probably won't buy that either. I'm going to go with Redcat Racing, either the Gen 7 Pro, for $279., or the Gen8 V2, for $339. Thanks for your review.

RC4WD is expensive, but if you’re looking for scale realism, they are the best. As for performance, I’ll take a TRX-4 all day long. Redcat has come a long way. I have a Gen 7 and it’s a decent rig. Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback.

I actually didn’t know that until I was filming the running video and my wife asked if they did. I said no and she said it looks like they do and pulled the door right open. 🤯 I had no idea. Awesome feature that most RCs don’t have.

I'm looking at buying the rc4wd Marlin sometime soon. Subbed

Awesome! I had a Marlin before. Pretty much the same setup as this truck, but shorter wheelbase.

I definitely was not expecting metal bumpers! My 4Runner came with plastic ones, so that's a nice surprise. I just ordered the xtracab, so of course I had to watch an unboxing video 😂😭 I also STRONGLY dislike the stock body mounts lol

RC4WD definitely makes some killer scale rigs. Their attention to detail is top notch, but they could definitely use some work when it comes to body mounts and electronics. Enjoy your new truck and thanks for watching!

I used set screw with no heads then you can lightly spread the body in and off. And the set screw you can decide how far the screws stick out

I love the RC4WD rigs for scale realism, but they can be pricey. Thanks for the kind words. It’s really means a lot. Glad you’re enjoying the content.

Simple mod is to install some grub screws into the mounting holes. Just use the friction fit of the body over the grub screw threads. Has never came loose. So much easier.

Been eyeing these as well. Don’t have any RC4WD trucks yet. Love the scale realism, but I’m just not sure how rugged they are? How are you liking it so far? Love the BTTF truck as well.

RC4WD is all about scale looks. The trucks don’t perform as well as a TRX-4 or SCX10, but those trucks have 4 link and coil over suspension where the RC4WD has a more traditional leaf spring suspension. That’s like comparing a purpose built rock crawler with a regular pickup truck. As far as ruggedness, the RC4WD trucks are solid. Thanks for watching!

to take off the body from chasy without open screw you just open the door and look down the slider and open the 2 pin each the door

@@XXLRC yeah it bugs the shit out of me lol my OCD. I heard that a lot of the hoods on the extended cab have the problem. I think that they get warped or not installed correctly. Guess it’s not enough to worry over….

It’s off an old toy grade RC. It was a Dale Earnhardt Intimidator SS Silverado they sold at Walmart back in 2006. If you find one now, it’ll be on eBay and people want top dollar for them. I lucked out and just happened to see it on FB Marketplace for cheap. Lady was selling a bunch of Dale memorabilia. The reason they were so popular was not only because it arguably the best looking Chevy, but also because the wheelbase lines up perfectly with an SCX10.
