Unboxing & First Impressions of Clench Fitness Footplate

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

These are my first impressions and of the Clench Fitness Footplate. I unbox this piece of fitness equipment used for resistance bands. Many people find that this footplate is best used for leg exercises which most people find the most difficult to workout. So I do a few workouts and share my thoughts.

As someone who purchased and has been using the Footplate for over a month, I can honestly say it is a game changer. Not just for legs but it's a great platform for performing curls, side lateral raises, shrugs, etc without having to awkwardly step on the bands. Folks if you value your band workouts you really should try this platform.

Nice video. It looks like they made the current plates more finished looking and it says it's made in the USA on the box. I'm pretty sure mine was not made in the USA. I have one of the first ones and it looks horrible and has sharp edges around the entire circumference of the plate. I don't use it that often but it is heavy duty and does work very well. I bought the riser feet separately when they first became available for sale.

Its that super steep price point for me that hurts and makes me incredibly hesitant to consider buying. The bands are already a high price point to begin with but they seem to be very high quality so I have my eyes on them. I am currently looking at buying an Aerobic Step Up platform to use as an alternative for only around $45 to $50 as I've seen it work great for other DIY and Home gym fitness channels. Others buy and make their own platforms out of industrial cutting boards and hockey pucks for less than $60. Obviously those come with their own pros and cons for sure. I love the design of what they have made but around $300 for a platform is so high in this economy, I can get so much fitness equipment for that amount, even a ton of their bands for that amount. But I'm glad to see you review this and happy to know you like it, it looks amazing for leg workouts and I wish I could afford it.

Uh, Dave, I think those slots in the footplate are not there just to carry it around, but are to bring the bands up through to do your squats, deadlifts, etc. That way the bands move more easily.

Hi Dave. I've recovered from my sinus surgery to remove polyps. It is wonderful to breathe again. I looked at buying Clench products. I live in Canada. With exchange rate, I would pay over 25% more than their price + international shipping fee. Even with a 15% discount, I have hesitated to buy the bands & footplate. I have a question on the footplate. Do you think the risers are important to use? Or can you use the footplate without the risers? I'm wondering what the purpose of the risers would be. Thank you for all your time to help people become the best they can be!

I use “The Step”, as recommended by another KZreadr. I paid under $40, though it is now close to $50. I think the Clenchfit is a better product overall as there are slots to loop bands through, which “The Step” lacks, but at about 1/6 the price “The Step” is an overall bargain. Unlike other step products, it has edges that are rounded and are less likely to chew up your bands (I see that 3d party sellers on an auction site are selling X3 band protectors which slip on to the X3 platform to guard against friction from the X3 metal edges). If you opt for the Clenchfit, search for a coupon as I saved 20% on the excellent Clenchfit handles. I do think Clenchfit gives excellent service and the handles are great. I don’t know if there are sharp edges on the Clenchfit platform but assume not based on DD’s review.

Answer... because you really care about getting fitter, can't fund an alternative and dont want to drill hoops into your floor. The mass market is wonderful in terms of what it can provide but step outside and prices can start becoming surprising. If someone made one of those boards then it'd take them a lot of time. Think of this as enthusiasts subsidising research...
