Spektrum just needs to go back to the DSM DSMR receivers again. I know that spektrum wants to save money and came up with these "beginner" remotes but those people (like myself) that have spent the money on a nice spektrum remote, it's really unfortunate that you need to spend more money to bind a Dx6r or Dx4r to this vehicle. Awesome review.😎👍

Awesome 2019 Arrma updates! However, thank you for highlighting that the Spektrum radios included in these new Arrmas are FHSS and are not compatible with the higher end Spekrum radios or any DSM protocol receivers. I already heard the cries from fans when this occurred on the new Axial RC models.. now it's occurring for Arrma's too. There will be many confused and upset customers who want to upgrade their Spekrum radio and later find out they need to swap out and buy a new Receiver too!

Nice improvements. I've been one of those guys that had the servo saver loosen off on my outcast but on my typhon I've never had an issue. Nice to see that Arrma listens to its customers and they keep slowly evolving an already awesome product!!

I'm very pleased to see that they transit to EC5 connectors. I can't say anything about the radio since I didn't see it in person, but a damn antenna in 2019? That's a regression. I'll wait to see what changes will come with the Senton v4 (if it will ever exist) to decide if I pick up a v3 or v4. Thanks for the instructive video again.

Good on you Vas! Sweet in boxing review and way to go on voicing your opinion on something like the radio, which I completely agree with your point of view on that. That TTX300 is so simple and so good, it just works really well and I cannot see that Spektrum radio costing any less to manufacture than the TTX300 so I really do not think this was a smart move by Horizon. Arrma has tonnes of momentum right now in the marketplace which is difficult to get in the first place with consumers especially in today's economy and to lose some of that to such a stupid mistake is ill advised in my opinion. Horizon can call their friends at Traxxas and ask about what that is like and how difficult that can be to overcome. As the old adage goes, "If it is not broke, do not fix it!" Take care dude ✌

Dude i love your reaction when you seen the box haha. And i like the matte finish kinda like the senton body. But what is up with that radio seems like a downgrade it doesn't even have padding on the wheel i feel like they went backwards with the radio/receiver..

great review as always bud. i just wish the wheels on the transmitter had a little foam on it so it wouldnt feel so cheap.i actually have the dx2e that came with my losi tenacity T i was able to steal the foam off my dramada 1/18 scale cheap RC truck and it made it feel like a whole new transmitter.it would be awesome if they could make the tension on the throttle be adjustable like with the dx6 and other airplane transmitters and mini quad transmitter like our qx7's. then it would be a great transmitter. im hoping to get either an outcast or kraton in the next couple weeks and im hoping my local shop still have a couple with the tactic setup.thanks for sharing buddy and i look forward to a running video

How can you use the Xt90 batteries with the IC5 connector's, I have 2 unused xt90 batteries does it mean I have to buy new batteries?

Is it different from the version before it and the same extent to withstand the strikes and fractions same version v3 Prophet detailed explanation and whether the spare parts installed previous versions

I still come back to this video all the time I want the Typhon 6S V4 so bad haha. I am selling a couple rc and I’m even thinking to sell the HPI Vorza Flux as it’s hard to get parts for it and isn’t cheap and then I’ll buy one of these. Otherwise I’ll just beating until end of August or so to get mine. Great video Vas. Awesome buggy 🤘🇨🇦🍻

I really don’t like the sticky out antenna 😢 it really detracts from the look IMO.. great balanced video as always. I do like that Arrma appear to take notice of constructive criticism. While the antenna and transmitter are issues, I don’t think they will effect sales too much but I guess we will see. I will probably still buy the Yohin

Love the new car's, but I won't be using that radios. Bummer we can't bind it with our other spectrum radio. But otherwise super stoked 🏁🏁👻👍👍👍. Thanks I just can't decide what's next, Typhon or Tailon. We have a Kraton and Senton. Thank for the update and thank you Arrma and Horizon 👍👍🏁.just looked at new pricing, I am going with Typhon this round, because it's 70 bucks cheaper. That's more in my price range.

Why did you delete the cons of the radio?

Yahoo! I’m just a total beginner and have just bought my first rc car, it’s the Arrma 3s 4x4 , SENTON.in my box I noticed a little rubber/cap, I haven’t been able to run it yet as I wasn’t able to buy some LiPo batteries and charger at the same time. So I was puzzled what this little piece was off. Whilst watching this video, you came to the bit about the aerial and I saw it was capped, the one on the SENTON doesn’t poke through but whipping the lid off I found it, and yes it was missing it’s cap. It’s back on now, I’m puzzled as to what the cap actually does? Probably nothing but I like things in there place. Thanks for the lessons I’m binge watching as many as I can! God Bless x

Why why why did they change out the tactic ttx300? Big mistake I think. I feel in upgrading the v3 to this buggy, they took a big step BACK with the spectrum radio system. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Otherwise, very nice! On a side note, I would love to see a 4s line, and I dont think I'm the only one. Hint hint arrma! 😆

The spektrum radio could've been decent but they are too lazy to put a simple piece of rubber or foam on the wheel. How hard could that be?

Seems like they reserve the higher end DSMR receivers/DX2E for their flagship brand, Losi. The SRS6000 that came with my Tenacity is an $80 receiver!

Very informative Vas! Looking at getting 1/8 buggy and so many brands out there to choose. How is this typhon compare to buggies of the same class from Hobao, Team Associated, Kyosho, Duratrax, HPI(not sure if still exist)….or other brands you know?

Can the Typhon bash? It seems great and really stable but I would like to know if I can run anywhere like I normally do? Grass, dirt, general off roading etc. If it needs to be on that track to run well, then I would want to pick something else.

I've looked everywhere is Aus to buy one of these, they are all out of stock, any advice on good vendors?

Just one other thing you missed I know I’m a newbie but like I said I’ve been binging to learn as much as possible, I’ve recently watched one where he was slating the battery tray ends and the lack of a retaining strap to stop forward/backwards movement of the battery. Looking at yours it seems that they have fitted one. I’m liking this car more and more but it’s hard to justify another one to my wife when I haven’t even played with my first toy. Lol

go with the arrma as I have heard h.p.i. is hard to get parts for as they were just taking over by a new company . It is some times hard to get parts for my h.p.i. jumpshot. i have the last version of the typhon and just bought it a couple of months ago. This thing is a beast. after about 2 months of backyard bashing and track I have had only 2 problems. 1) bolt broke holding shock onto shock tower 2) I thought i blew the rear diff. but it was only a bearing so the rear diff survived. 3) not a problem yet but the ball ends are starting to strip and pull out of lower front control arm. I have been very impressed with this buggy and how well it is holding up. i like this one so much I am thinking of buying this version as well. That way my employee and I can race with "equal " cars. as mentioned the remote sucks. the same one came with the ecx ruckus 2wd I bought for my daughter. I really dislike the feel of it with that car. I can not imagine I am going to change my mind with this car. look like it is time to get myself a good remote

Any news on a v4 senton?

If you change out your receiver with another spectrum, make sure sure it's not AVC compatible cuz they won't work with the stock servo.

Ya not liking the new radios they are equipping them with. That V4 Typhon is pretty sweet though. Looks like I might have to start selling some of the collection off again 😂. Good review Vas. Some disappointments but it should be good overall

Not really. The XT90 plugs are 4mm, but the EC5 are 5mm. However, you can plug a male XT30 into a female EC3 (with a bit of force), but you can't plug a male EC3 into a female XT30. So maybe that's where the confusion comes from...? Thank you for the kind words about the video, I try my best to be balanced when talking about the products I unbox, so really appreciate the feedback. 🙂

@@joshchatwin8179 While I hate Traxxas as much as the next real RC hobbyist, I can pretty much assure you that Traxxas will not go anywhere soon. While just about everything they build is toygrade and based on very old platforms, they do have a huge following. You have to remember that a lot of people like to drive RC cars, but they are not RC hobbyists.

@@AB-80X well said. The sad truth. Plus brand loyalty from people who grew up on them. But arrma has definitely hurt their pockets and is putting pressure on them. Not to mention Lhs are pretty much forced to peddle their crap due to the parts market too. Think about it Lhs probably don't make much money on selling arrma parts cause they are so tough while traxxas that isn't hobby grade imo are breaking all the time! So sadly you are right, we are stuck with them.

Im debating between the talion an typhon, i think the typhon will handle slightly heavier terrain due to its ride height but i love the look of the typhon. anyone got both that can comment?

Had a DX2E and hated it, and this is worse. Don't have a TTX300 but was considering buying it after I tried it on a buddies Wraith. Brilliant ergonomics for an RTR radio.

Hate the radio, crashed my outcast, i let off throttle and it kept going for another 1 second and it crashed on the roof

Has anyone heard about when spare parts are gonna be available? Screw the car I want the new motor mount & T2T brace.

I haven't used this radio, but I would be interested in knowing why you think the DSM protocol is better than FHSS? From what I understood you meant to say you prefer DSM technology over the FHSS because you the high end transmitters that support DSM.

Bingo. Plus the included radio feels terrible and there have been reports of "run away" cars when using it.

Couple questions about the new receiver and transmitter: 1. Isn't the TTX300 also a FHSS radio? So, while it may be a missed chance for an upgrade, it is the same as the old radio. 2. What voltage range does the new Receiver support? Any better/worse than the TR326? 3. Does the new Transmitter have left/right endpoint adjustment like the TTX300, or is it just the steering trim knob? 4. Is the range any better or worse? I might be willing to accept the new radio as more than just 'it was the in-house brand so we used it' if it actually improves on some objective level over the TTX300 setup.

Good questions, I'll try and answer what I know.... 1. Even though is FHSS it won't bind to the Tactic radio as they are a different brand. In general, different brand receivers won't bind to different radios, they "speak" their own language. 2. I believe the voltage is the same. 3. No steering end point adjustments, just steering dual rates. 4. Haven't tested it, but I doubt it will be any better. Hope that helps.

Great video and I totally agree. Transmitter is trash and sucks I have to buy additional parts to enjoy this awesome truck. Arrma is still amazing but dammit radio.

That FHSS radio sucks my buddy has one on his ECX Torment thing goes out of range easy. Not good on a 70mph car what are they trying to be like Traxxas now ?

My kraton v3 has also got those bubbles on the stickers
