You might also want to keep your eyes open for the DECO. This is the pin feed 40 stitch repeat pattern card reader. The Forna is a 1/4 scale paper pattern reader, vs the form computer that looks like an old fashioned calculator. The Passap Jac-40 is a hand held 40 stitch repeat pattern card selector. The Jac40 will allow for even more stitch patterning on the back bed even at the same as using the Deco. This is an amazing machine. With very fine yarns and special directions you can automatically knit with more than 4 colors. Google Passap magazines. You will quickly find a link to all or most all Passap publications in one place, including repair manuals and garment designed in multiple languages. This machine has many textured stitch patterns automatically available on both beds just from the lock settings. It should knit like a dream with the correct yarns. It is designed not to need a comb and weights but sometimes you may want a comb and weight with heavily textured knits or lace. Also many Superba/White knitting tools will work with Passap. They are the same needle guage spacing. 😮

Lucky you!! They are known as eyelets in English. The paper is used for shims. If you dont have it as an extra, you will want to locate bed extentions and a four color changer for this machine. Eventually you will also be able to locate a 3000 motor for your new machine. The world will come looking for your DM80 videos.

@@ZabbezOriginal I no longer have the Passap. My current machines are a Singer/Silver Reed/Studio SK 700 and the awesome SK 860 and I also have a Brother KH 260. I had to give up the Passap due to lack of space, as I also sew and weave, so everything takes a lot of space :). The Duo 80 is a fabulous machine, watching your unboxing brought back fond memories.

Sounds like you kept the perfect combination of knitting machines to be able to knit all thicknesses of yarn. And yes, lack of space is something I also struggle with 🤣

Hey Mike, wat leuk! Ja, breimachines doe ik ook al een paar jaar, maar nu voor het eerst een KZread kanaal ermee 😀 En heel tof dat je ook een breimachine op de kop getikt hebt. Begrijp ik het goed dat het ook een Passap is? Dan begin je wel meteen met een van de moeilijkste machines 🤣

Wow, what a time. If I'm buying one of these second hand, what do you reckon I should look out for or be aware of?

Hallo, mooi dat je deze machine hebt , ik heb ondertussen je kindersweater al uitgeprobeerd, is zeker een aanrader als start. Ikzelf heb een pinky waarvan ik het achterste slot heb aangepast met de draadschuitjes van de groene zodat het makkelijker wordt om van kleur te wisselen. Maar mijn vraag is nu : Via 2dehands heb ik een 2 kleurenwisselaar gekocht, maar daar is een wit plastiek plaatje dat er apart bij was om op het achterste bed te zetten zodat de connectie met het voorste slot perfect moet gaan ( die moet opengaan en het draadschuitje (eyeled) oppakken). Ik begrijp langs geen kanten hoe ik dit er zou moeten aan bevestigen. Heb alle manuals, parts manuals al bekeken en gedownload... maar enkel die van de 4 kleurenwisselaar is duidelijk aangegeven. Misschien heb jij daar een oplossing voor ? Op facebook vind ik ook geen antwoord tot hiertoe vr grt, Lieve

Hoi Lieve, wat een avontuur om te lezen, heel leuk. Helaas weet ik geen oplossing voor je. Ik kon mijn kleurenwisselaar er zo opschroeven en hij deed het meteen. Ik hoop dat het je gaat lukken, want dat automatisch wisselen van kleuren is wel heel handig. Succes!
