Unboxing a NOS Marantz 10B Tube Tuner - SUPER RARE + FIRST EVER on YouTube
Here we unbox a legendary Marantz Model 10B Analog Tube FM Tuner as if it just arrived from the factory!
Super rare occasion to experience what it would have been like in the late 1960's to be lucky enough to purchase one of these beauties.

WHO WE ARE
Skyfi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

Wow! What a beautiful, classic piece of audio's finest works of art and functionality. Thanks for sharing. Sure puts a smile on my face :-)
Wow I’m blown away! A brand new one never opened!
This is an awesome video. Rare and unseen on KZread. Congrats on owning this rare and early unit from the Long Island City period. Later ones were made in Woodside. this breaths Saul Marantz.
WOW! If that isn't a museum piece, i don't know what is!

Wow! What a time capsule
Omg… you are lucky to have that!!! The 10 b is the best I would love to come across one of those at a sale for a sweet deal
Wow super cool___thanks for making the video
Just started getting back into the vintage stuff so much better than the crap they make today
The FM " Holy Grail".......Talk about Back to the Future!
I’d love to have that
I love how Fernando is barefoot, this guy is living my dream.
Its status is like nuclear car.🤩
Amazing. Like digging into a vault full of treasure, Indiana Jones meets Sidney Smith and Sol Marantz ... but then, like Jeff Webb said, the airwaves are already (almost) dead.
Amazing piece of equipment! 50 years later, what's preventing Marantz from producing a tuner with the same level of quality and detail as this one, at a current market price?

Probably demand/cost ratio unfortunately. And the dominance of streaming devices/hardware/services.

In 1965 a new Marantz 10b was $650, and Marantz lost money on everyone produced. Adjusted for inflation, that's about $6200 today. If they didn't want to sell them at a loss, the retail price would be about $9000. There's no market today for a $9000 tube analog FM tuner.
What are the best speakers to have for one of these?
How would this tuner compare to a Fisher TFM 1000 FM tuner?
Noceeeee
Gonna need to check all them caps values etc then power slowly using a Variac. Anyone who find NOS old gear, you cant just turn it on or you could ruin the equipment.

Are you planning to sell it - if it's not sold already.

We've reached the epitome of materialism. Only thing missing is communion and a prayer.
