To me Guitar Goddess does NOT mean “I’m the best guitarist out there.” To me, the meaning of Guitar Goddess is on a much deeper and interconnected level. Guitar Goddess is that indescribable feeling I get whenever I play my guitar. I feel beautiful, confident & positive. It's unlike anything else. I feel like it's something other guitarists can relate to. Guitar Goddess does not define my skills or my playing style and I don't think the name I chose is un-deserving in any way. In my opinion, every female guitarist should be able to call herself a Guitar Goddess no matter what style of music she plays or how experienced she is. It’s not about skill. It’s about the passion.

seems like getting along well with the neck is one of the most important things. i got a gs mini on black friday and it's the first guitar i've owned that has the smell. i have several corts and really like them. i do have one shiny Cort (an s-style electric) where i find i get stuck on the finish sometimes. i enjoyed your beginner course -- it helped me get going.

For me, I prefer a satin neck. Those glossy necks get sticky in warm weather for most of us. Most who like a guitar but hate the neck, will mask it off and steel wool the shine off of the neck. It’s like a pool cue. It will slide through the fingers best if it has no finish on it at all, or you must keep it waxed weekly.

Once I played a roasted maple neck, I was done with neck finishes on electrics. It's a shame it's so rare on the acoustics.

Dead right about the pool cue. When I played in pool teams we always had 1000 grit paper and/or steel wool in our cue cases. Same with the guitar neck. Shiny looks nice, but it grabs.

Nice review! It's unusual to find someone who is ready to gave way a guitar that appears to be of good quality. Good on you! I did feel a little lack of connection between you and the instrument, I would have liked to hear you play your favourite guitar to get a better understanding and insight. I would have liked to have a go on it myself. it has taken me long time to realise that the guitar is my favourite instrument.

Just bought an Orangewood Echo vintage sunburst live. First thing I did was smell the wood 😁
I'm obsessed with smelling new things (and old ones) so if it smells good I'd take it anyday 😌
