Unboxing 2017 BMW X6 - It Started This Whole Luxury Crossover Coupe Craze

For today's unboxing review we have for you the 2017 BMW X6 xDrive35i. Called a Sports Activity Vehicle by BMW, the X6 is currently in its second generation and it's more popular than ever. Our tester is equipped with all-wheel drive, hence the xDrive name. Power comes courtesy of a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque, which is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. If that's not powerful enough for you, there's also the xDrive50i and its 4.4-liter turbo V8 with 445 hp and 480 lb-ft, or the insane X6 M and its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 567 hp and 553 lb-ft of twist. But we're reviewing the so-called entry-level model, and you really need to understand something: it's not exactly "entry-level." With a base price of around $63,000, our X6 xDrive35i came loaded with extras = $more than $15,000 worth. Do the quick math for the total sticker price.
But what's the difference between the X5 and X6? Honestly, it pretty much boils down to body styles, as the both are built on the same platform with nearly all of the same components. That's not a bad thing, but what it does for BMW is provide an alternative to the typical SUV styling. Say you don't need the extra space the X5 provides and want something, at least in your opinion, more stylish. That's the X6. Oh, and for anyone thinking the X6 can't do any hauling, you should know that it can tow up to 6,000 pounds. Enjoy the review!

I've seen the new Benz "coupe" SUV and the X6 in person and the X6 just looks so much more attractive than that Benz squat-end!

Who has Porche money though? For the guys out there....notice smoke only comes out of the left exhaust. It's a minor thing but there is a damper on the right and it opens up when you are driving but NOT while idling.

I mean.. Stop the kon sense.. Would u ever tell someone buying a 911 that he shouldn't because his car is not practical.. Why the hate towards the x6? :) u must give it to BMW.. They created a new segment.. And now the fact that others have jumped on the bandwagon is testament to their status as visionnaries

I have the 2018. Just realized after having it for 4 months that I have parking assistance. hahahahaha Um....I'm old school. I will never trust it. Nooooo thanks. I would NEVER get a white interior. Too much work to keep it clean.

This Model actually does NOT have the Msport package ... there is no embossed M logo on the steering wheel , && the seats aren't Msport either .

Those must be 20 or 21 inches wheels with run-flat tires on. Run-flat tires are "thinner", hence it looks "small" but much sexier
It can never be a coupé, it needs only 2 doors. It has 5.
"BMW started the luxury crossover." Wrong. FX35 in 2003. Not as luxury but still good enough to be called luxury crossover with the design that was/is still unique.

Not really, the meaning of a crossover is to take the low sport style like the M4 or M5 one or for the case of the ml63 amg crossed with the original AMG style

Why just why are you listing Retail prices for options and packages. Know the list prices, not the markups they do rounding off. Go to the dealer loaded with facts to save you $$$$$$$. Get it and them for less. Everyone pays a different price for the Same? Why because they don't know what the dealer knows plus their kick backs from the manufacturer for units models sold each month.

mine is the M-sport x-Drive i35
I have to say this is better finished than the X5 without a doubt. The Leather finish and choice of quality materials here rivals the new 7 series. The only thing is the exterior and interior design language is still the same, so conservative and boring.

Rubbish, all the interior options are the same. The build qulaity is identical. I've spent hours speccing up X5 and X6 models and the interiors look 100% identical.

This is NOT a BMW X6 M. I think you really should know more actual REAL facts about a vehicle if your gonna do a review of it. I do think these X6's are sexy as hell and I want one but the reliability of BMW is proven to not be so good for the most part and the repair costs are absolutely insane. from what I've read all over the internet about the reliability of BMW makes me really think twice about getting into one of these.

Nonsense… bmw are very reliable , stop that capping .. that reputation is all for Range Rover and that’s even a lie cos people who say it don’t own one, plus it’s the older models that’s got the reputation. Take it from someone who’s families & friends all have BMWs and range rovers
