I’m even seeing now where some peruse these photos to check out the clothes of the bystanders as well as how bad the wrecks were. I’m also wondering if some of the more gory parts are now being airbrushed out.

Always love seeing the people standing in front of the cars . Almost as if they were in the car with the driver. Must have been quite an experience for them as many people did not own cars or knew how to drive. And still today we have people that are mesmerized by accidents

I noticed a lot of accidents from the 20s & 30s. The cars had bald tires.

No seat belts in the good old days. In high speed crashes passenger would go through the windshield and driver could be impaled on the steering column. When Ford installed seat belts, safety door locks and collapsible steering columns, people said Fords must be unsafe. After a crash you had to get to the nearest phone at someone’s house or business. Could take hours for ambulance arrival. No call 911. Call local police or fire department number. If you dialed “0” you hoped the telephone company operator would make the connection.

I dont like the way they colorized the photos, because its easy to see they didnt bother to research the colors of the cars in the eras of the cars. an example is at 3 minutes, they have the car a purple, and half the people were wearing purple.

Back in the 30s all the way into the 70s, cars were more steel heavier, especially in the 50s so those accidents were very impressive
