What other applications for air duster freezing can you think of?

Careful application to circuit boards, can show up the location of temp sensitive components or dry solder joints, helps isolate the source region of a fault.

im going to try using this for installing ball joints on my polaris. i really hope the cold is enough to shrink them because its a press fit and i dont have the tools to press it back in. cant even get the spindles off the quad because ill def end up breaking other parts trying to do so lol

You'll definitely get shrinkage using this method, whether it's enough, I'm not sure. Let me know how you go!

@@LockyourHubs4WDing I'll have to heat up the aluminum spindles too, but not too hot because they will just drip lol...

Maybe put the bearing cups in the engel at minus 20? I would have thought thats enough to make a difference. Might mean one less casserole on the next trip though

I'm trying to get a tie rod end off that is stuck I'm thinking of blasting the bolt with this. Might also work on the ball joints.

@LockyourHubs4WDing yah I've seen people do both. I talked to someone who has used both liquid nitrogen and dry ice but the dusters are easier to find. If not I'll blast with a propane torch :)

I bet the endothermic phase transition of the liquid can be turned into an exothermic reaction if you ignite the gas :) Like the idea of freezing a stuck nut...didn't think of that.

Those sort refrigerant are what's in modern AC systems. They aren't as effective as old school refrigerants, though not as bad for the ozone layer.
