This Isn't Even My Final Form Exotic sports cars and houses tend to appreciate in value, maybe not cars so much, but it's not unheard of. I could sell a sawed after Japanese import from '95 (like for example the Toyota Supra from that year) in near perfect condition and it could realistically sell for greater than a new corvette (just an example, it's possible). Houses will almost always appreciate in value. This laptop for 9k is a crappy investment because it will be obsolete in about 3 years time (maybe give it a year or two extra, it's quite powerful). It's not gonna be a powerhouse for long because it will be replaced by better, perhaps more practical laptops, as the industry demands more powerful machines. Cars and houses do not degrade in their quality over time the way stuff like phones and such technology do, but maybe I'm wrong everything is different.

really, at 9k you minus well build a super powerful gaming desktop. you can fit 2 rtx 2080tis, along with everything else, the only thing that makes it worth it is the portability.

I have one and I upgrade the ssd to 16 Tb and ram to 128g and work very strong install all game in plant also I connect thunderbolt 4 with egpu rtx 3090 this 21x monster still strong and never come old and still use it in 2023 no issue thank you acer

And to think this is already being outclassed 4 years after... And for a third of the price in most cases... The pace at wich it goes really is outstanding.

The keyboard appears to be rgb. When the keycap gets taken off you can see the clear switch housing for the cherry mx browns. Clear housing is only used for rgb cherry mx switches. Single color lit or nonlit cherry mx use black housings.

I can still watch this review in 2023 and enjoy the power of this machine. Only an Intel i7 Quadcore chip but in some cases that is not a bad thing. Still a very capable chip and likely does not run as hot as the newer Intel i9 12th gen chips. Seems to run games with no trouble at all. I wonder if Acer is going to make something like this again maybe with an AMD high-end chip, or Intel?

I would try the Acer nitro 5, it's a pretty solid laptop with decent specs, and at a price point of $550-$800(depending on which or where you buy it from), it's worth your money.

You can't, though. Pretty sure there's no pentium 3 that will run on a board with PCIE slots. You're gonna have to go with a new pentium, such as a pentium R or D

Late response, but an appropriate time to chime in on the topic to see how some of these hardcore desktop replacement machines have aged. The Clevo/Sager SLi machines outdo this machine in terms of CPU and (arguably) GPU upgrades with desktop components in both cases for a lower price tag and with all the g-sync, 1440p, 120hz bells and whistles. The Acer Predator X21 takes the cake for style and size, but the proper substance and raw power quite decisively goes to the Clevo P870DM3 (and its newer variants).

just look how much technology has progressed. A laptop half the size destroys this one

Buy this or build a whole F*ckng setup with a 4k display and 2 1080 ti in sli and rgb everything.

There's no disputing that a custom build would be cheaper and arguably quicker, but if you can't have a desktop (student, wife appeal etc.) then you'll need a laptop. Sure, there are other options, such as something like a Razer blade stealth, which are a bit lighter and cheaper. This type of laptop is basically "portable top of the line" machine. Linus covered it for clickbait and the "selling the lifestyle" kinda videos he does, which is a good business move but can upset some of his subscribers.

Got a msi sli laptop with 1070. Slit turns off with power unplugged. Takes 2 plugs to run. Even running 1 1070 with sli off battery lasts like 1.30 mins max. It's awesome when plugged in tho Edit just noticed how old this vid is lol
