Before I searched for an instructional video, I was on Amazon purchasing replacement Spring Rods for my 3 year old Samsung Washer which Rods have never been replaced. I have never done this before and I needed to know how to gain access to the interior to swap the Rods. That’s when I hopped into KZread for ideas. The Funny thing, is when I found your video, not only is your Washer the same model number, but also the same color. And you purchased your replacement Spring Rods on Amazon. 😂 It’s almost like this video was meant for me. Thanks Man, you just saved me half of days work. 👍

I used a small box to hold the lid up until it fell out of my reach. Then I was able to use my teenage son to hold the lid up and hold the drum to the side while I did that back right one. That was a bugger! Factory had wrapped the hose around the stabilizer rod twice! All done and saved lots of money doing it myself. Thank you for the instructions. On tip, I just unclipped the wiring from the panel so I didn’t have to deal with it floating around. Easy peasy. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 🎉🎉🎉

Ryan, Thanks for such a good video as I had to search for my particular Samsung Model!! I started with the hardest corner rod 1st and then it was downhill from there! The disconnects took longer than anything. I am 64 yrs. old been a single Mom for yrs. that has to fix my own stuff to avoid costly repairs. Thanks for walking me through!

I did this today !!!! Thanks for the detailed video !!! I purchased original springs for 350 but I think they'll last 3 years. I'll upgrade my washer than.

I saw the crutch in the video and did the same...great idea. I used my Tub O' Towels to get the grease off of my hands, it worked great. Thanks for the video.

Where did you buy the rods from?

Great video! This is the video I was desperately looking for! Only thing I would add, is that Samsung has apparently made their springs to need Lithium Grease. Which is why the old ones come out looking the way they do. I only figured this out because of my ADHD and obsessively watching entirely too many videos and reading too many articles on the actual dynamics of how springs work on a washing machine. Believe me total waste of time I will never get back 😂. But I thought I would share my discovery, as apparently Samsung just needed another reason for me to never buy another one of their appliances again.

Great video! what would happen if I change the rods but the new ones are slighltly shorter than the original ones? It no longers bangs when it spins, now it does it sometimes while its washing.

Already changed the rods out to a stronger rod and still has the issue, any suggestions beyond that fix?

Make sure the washing machine is level and do the calibration on it. A quick search will tell you how to do it. It is holding 2 buttons (can't remember which) for a few seconds then hitting start. It will recalibrate itself. See if that helps.

Can you give me the exact product number for the rods that you ordered? It’s trying to direct me to a DC-97… part #

How about showing what you were doing in the back, specifically. That's the issue I have. I finally found what looks like the right model video, and...no video of specifics in the back.

Start video at 6:42. You will see how he takes 4 screws out. 4 in the back and 2 in the front.
