This squad isn’t ready for the champions league, upgrades needed in the summer, let’s be honest we’ve struggled against some teams in the ECL, Emery has done amazing getting this team in the top 4 and a semi final

Agreed. Upgrades needed in 1 or 2 areas. Other areas just need some numbers as good or close to what we have. Such players will also be needed for a good run in the EL. Can't afford or entice them with EL. Surely no one expects a deep run in the CL. Get the money, get the players and if We're out early (group stages won't be same now), We're out early and can concentrate on qualifying again. The EL would be the worst competition to qualify for. Would prefer ECL again. Can't rest a few in the EL like you can in the ECL. Being in the CL is like getting into the PL. You don't just go and win it or get top 8 straight away. You build season on season and just make sure you stay in it for a few seasons. To not want CL because it's hard is ridiculous. Have to get rid of such a small club mentality.

​@LG26 we have one of the worlds best young right backs, currently at Belgrade but we are having him back next season. Kosta Nedelijkovic. Plenty if champions league experience, will be playing in the European Championship this summer aged just 18. This player is potentially world class. We have no issue with right back position with this lad. He is 🔥

Tielemens has been so good lately. Covers every inch of grass, great service for Watkins - missed him last couple games for sure.

Morning Luke, Justin. We are all fully invested in the Villa with you and we love your passion. I think we were all hurting after the defeat to Olympiacos and Brighton, we were are lulled into the security thinking normally we would win both under Emery. But this is football, we are down to our bare bones with the injuries, yet we have continued to deliver. 3 hopefully 4 games left and they players can have a month or so off before the Euros start…..! Spurs need to win all their 3 PL games with Man City standing in their way and they are bang in form, so I remain confident 4th and Champions League is ours….! Then we roll into the madness of the summer transfer window and players can no longer turn us down as we are not Champions League…..! How far have we come under NSWE……. UTV

Let's just get 4th over the line and anything else is a bonus. It's been a brilliant season and Emery has been a legend to do what he has with the injuries. Next season with players back and probably a couple of Unai, Monchi gems brough in, and with a bit of that luck we haven't had this season, we can go on to even bigger and better things. I'll drink a glass of claret to that! UTV

Just wanted to say that this season has not only been absolutely amazing to watch with all the twists and turns, highs and lows, all the records being broken, the anticipation and thrill of challenging the league's best teams at the top of the league, going on a nail biting European Cup run, which dont forget is by no means over!!! Then on top of that always having your excellent content giving us villa fans spot on views, thoughts, analysis etc!! You're a great credit to our club!! Long may it continue. UTV... YTID... AVFC...

I'm backing the manager and the players 100%. They have been magnificent this season, they are running out of gas.

The injury gods seem to have conspired against us at crucial times this season, even yesterday Rogers off after 25 minutes. We still have a massive part to play by getting completely behind our lads either at the games or on social media and whatever happens we can look in the mirror and be proud of ourselves as a club .

Given the injuries we have suffered this season we have done remarkably well. It looks likely that we will get fourth spot but even id we don't it's been a great season. Thank you for your videos throughout the season. Your enthusiasm is inspiring. UTV.

The petrol light is on, and has been for a couple of weeks but somehow we still going, we are running on absolute fumes! 53 games they have played, let that stick 53 , to spurs 38. With the injuries we had/still have a defence that has had more than 10-15 games together due to injuries. To be were we are is a miracle, I cldnt be prouder of the boys, its still in our hands for 4th place, eu we prob have given ourselves( the ref has) to much to do, but the season as a whole has been the stuff of dreams, keep the faith lads and lasses! This season will harden us ready for champs league and show what we need and who isn't ready. Utv keep it up luke and Justin

💯 53 games, having used the least amount of players in the PL. Emerys game management has been superb. We've ran the 3rd lowest amount of km in the PL. That stat is despite the games such as when we beat City where we like rockets all over the pitch. I'd be massively annoyed if we didn't get CL now but as Villa fans, we have zero reason to complain about how We've conducted a season.

Good time for perspective. 7pts clear, good goal difference, semi final, spurs have to play city...amazing manager who has transformed players with the help of his background staff, amazing support. Remarkable season and one big push could make it even more remarkable. Then the summer and more good players will want to be part of this journey. We are going places. And UTV podcast also deserves a break for all the great coverage...but not just yet...some great pods to come as we get over the line in 4th. Thursday not impossible either. UtV loved our club since 1973 when I was born and so f proud.

4th and the cup would be excellent for villa

As a Christian, I try to follow the admonition to "Put not your faith in the things of this world" With my 66 years of following Villa that's hard at times, but it helps when coping with situations like this. As Justin has stated so eloquently, this has been a spectacular season and whatever happens we are much above last season and many before. So no blame, just thanks and let's be satisfied with where we are. Yes, we are all as drained as Luke says, but if it all comes good that's not an expectation but a bonus.

I was down and wanted to get stuck into the midfield yesterday as they didn’t show up but listening to everyone and and sleeping on it, I agree it’s that we are knackered and the lads are picking up niggles and it’s more understandable. Taking the positive, we have a very capable no2 keeper who stood up and was counted yesterday so good on him and let’s just get to end of the season and ahead of Spurs however we can 👍💜💙UTV!!

I absolutely Love Emery`s attitude in his post match interview. No moaning about the Ref`s, Carping about Injuries, or slagging off the players. Just stating the obvious that we need some rest, and with a smile on his face. I think we will get over the Line for Champions League football. Maybe Burnley will spring a surprise. That Point we got against Chelsea is starting to look very vital for sure. Think we need to go back to a 3 Man Midfield as we are being over run there so need to include Tim Iroegbunam in the starting line up alongside Douglas Luis and Mc Ginn. They are crying out for the Help .

As I have said before, this season is a marathon and an education. Moving forward I know that Emery will add to the squad so emotionally I am extremely chilled at this moment in time. What we must learn as a fan base going forward, we cannot play the same players week in week out and it’s vital that we rotate players to keep them as fresh as possible. Our fans have to get this and stop being extreme in their comments. Now the players need us more than ever so for the last two games let’s just give them everything come win lose or draw.

Justin we the Villa family are behind you fella! I could see the desire there Sunday even though we’re running close to empty! Phenomenal season whatever happens from here UTV!

It has felt like a very long & hard season I'm feeling quite drained myself I need a couple of months off it's a learning curve for the players I think we'll definitely look to employ better squad rotation to ease fatigue but we're on the up & I'm looking forward to see what the future brings UTV!!

I think we all, me included, need to realise what a great season we’ve had, the best for almost a generation. It’s easy to be greedy and want a top 4 finish and a trophy but look where we were 18 months ago. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t feel disappointment but we have plenty to look forward to right now and there are many clubs who would swap with us. UTV !

I'm very positive for the future, yes we're struggling now, we're definitely running on empty at the moment, but for this squad of players to get Champions League and we will get it, with the horrendous injury list we've had, hardly ever mentioned by the media, is a fantastic achievement, if we could do it against Liverpool at Villa Park that would be so special, but if we don't I have no worries of Man City beating Spurs, Spurs will not give the title to Arsenal, of course we all want that Conference League Cup, but if we don't make it, yes it will be disappointing, but we should all be proud of what Emery and the players have achieved this season and who knows Ollie scoring the winner in the Euros final for England would cap off a great campaign UTV

Perhaps physically there are tired bodies as our options off the bench are so depleted now but to me it’s more mental. The rigours of travelling to Europe, game prep meetings and a lot less recovery time adds up. That said, a lot of Man City players cope with it including starting for their countries so perhaps we could learn from them psychologically. I’d even look at sticking Duran in the midfield as he’s retaining the ball well and loves a tackle - necessity is the mother of invention! UTV lads

ONE MORE PREM WIN... all we need.... ONE MORE WIN and top 4!!! Imagine the fairytale ending either if we get it at Villa Park on Monday against a team like Liverpool, that OR Jack Grealish gets its for us in the winning Man City goal against Tottenham, would be MUCH MUCH sweeter than had the lads just found out on the coach journey back to Brum after Brighton!!!

More I think about it... This dip in form isn't nearly as bad a dip in form as it felt at the time. At the time I'll be honest I was livid, furious with the players, felt they should be ashamed, and so tired of every time we play a team in bad form is when we lose to them (happened so many times this season!!). BUT... looking back our form dip is not THAT bad (considering injuries anyway). That draw with Chelsea is looking better every game, we got off EASY against them, same with Brentford. Olympiacos and Brighton were the only really rough ones but I honestly think it's fatigue and just missing Tielemans, Kamara, and Martinez. Get them back and we'll turn it around!! Compare that to Liverpool's slump recently and they were able to turn it around eventually, we've had slumps that we've turned around at the end too, and it's more like that, it's not nearly as horrific as Tottenham's slump. Perspective!! Next season we arleady know we're gonna be better, let's back the lads for the end of this season. UTV

To write positivity is the best way some of the people were moaning like hell after the weekend performance yes we had a disappointing game but what a season we have had absolutely buzzing as a Villa fan and I know there’s a lot more to come💜💙 💪🔥🔥🔥🦁UTV🦁🔥🔥🔥💪

Alot of what we do with kamara in is around the double pivot. Mcginn and dougie dont seem to pivot with each other very well

I always looked at the last game of the season as being our safety net should we need it, Palace bound to be mid table, can't get Europe, won't get relegated, these lot will already be on the beach, so if we turn up needing the points, they'll be there for the taking, but since they've appointed their new manager, they've been unbelievable and look hungry in games still. I'm of the belief that Spurs won't get as many points as us, especially when it means handing Arsenal the title should they take points off City, but they do have a really good record against City, and the chase of Champions League could be enough to "spur" them on... Whatever happens come the end of the season whether it's Champions League or Europa League, it's been a huge improvement on last season, again on the up year after year, we're extremely close to achieving what we set out for at the start of the season, and at the same time it feels inches away from slipping out of our hands with the ELC semi final in the balance, Emery's positive messages need to be absorbed to get this one over the line... Keep up the positivity Lads UTV

Just rewatched Olymp, we actually played well… Should have had a pen , a good goal disallowed , a missed pen , We can def get back in this game … Hopefully the lads will be refreshed.. Good evening guys. The team is progressing since Emery came and we are in a really good place. I try to take Emerys mentality and try not to find excuses but the reality is with all these injuries the players left playing all the matches and they do look tired the last month. I believe in the process we started and if we secure the 4th place then i will be happy but it is true these performances during the final stretch do leave a little sour taste. UTV

Of our best 11, who are we missing? Martinez and kamara. Maybe Ramsey possibly. Most of our team have had plenty of rest, konsa was out for almost a month, pau for 2 months, luiz and Mcginn had breaks with suspensions. Digne and cash both have been in and out. Diaby and rogers have had plenty of rest. It’s not tiredness. We got outplayed, have been the past 3 games, and a few of them aren’t putting in the hard yards anymore. Emery has also made a few mistakes in the past few games. I think we will get fourth - but we will get it because spurs will probably bottle it more than us.

Deflated is the word the worry that we could potentially miss out on 4th due to being completely knackered and having so many injuries I still feel we can do it UTV

The simple reality is we have too smaller squad with too many serious injuries to compete at this stage of the season. It’s why all the consistently successful teams have the depth to be able to rotate and rest key players. Despite it all we’re one game away from a European final & one game away from champions league football. It’s remarkable really. Let’s push on & get this last win UTFV

I don't know if this is already in place but is it not getting the reserves and youth team playing the same style as the first team? In circumstances we can then reduce the risk if they're called upon.

You have to take your hat off to the players it has been a long old season, not just for us but for a lot of teams. We don’t have a massive squad and with injures we are trying but it’s hard. One good push in Greece and it has been a great season no matter what. How Watkins is going to play in the euros I don’t know.

It was in our hands , beating Brighton was the easiest thing to do lol but the players did not want to play.

I felt realy down to many players did not turn up again .today is another day and Thursday we will reach the final and Monday be in the champions leauge

Well put Justin, I think we all expect to win every game, me included, you can see over the last month how the team has dropped off with injuries. We will need to get some new quality players for the new season as the Champions League will be more demanding. Then we have the Domestic league which is demanding in it's self. No win in three games and outplayed in all three. Home to Liverpool and away to Palace. Why shouldn't we be positive. I think our champions league hopes hand on spurs not being able to get 9 PTS from their last three games. I'm hoping the goal difference is enough that it isn't over turned if they get only 7pts and go level. Playing Burnley and sheff utd, they are going to reduce that goal difference gap. Chaps league is so important we get it this season, you can see that Chelsea are getting their act together now and probably be a force next season, Newcastle will probably also be closer to the top 4. We need that extra revenue to sign player and also a higher calibre. The way we capitulate in games is reminiscent of a dean smith team, which a number of these players still are. When it works we are amazing, but when it doesn't we really seem to struggle to plug the peaks.

We need 3 points but dont see where they are coming from. Of course they have to remain positive but reality is we look finished and injuries have been a nightmare.

Fingers crossed for top 4, just need a result out of our last 2 games or Spur's 3. Spurs need a draw against Man City. Two 3-0 wins vs Sheffield U and Burnley and a couple of losses by us vs Livpl and a resurgent Palace and we're 5th. The goal difference can be eroded quite easily over the fixtures remaining. We are running on empty and our form isn't what it was, and agree with Justin the players get a pass. Injuries have decimated us. Just hope there's something left in the tank for Europe and the league.

Justin, if Spurs beat Burnley and Sheffield United by 2 goals in each game (very likely) then the goal difference goes from 9 to 5, if we lose to Liverpool and Palace by 2 goals each that's a goal difference of just 1 to Spurs. Then, it just matters what they do against City, they could well draw, knowing the Premier League. Then we better hope. WE ARE NOT SAFE ON GOAL DIFFERENCE! I'm worried

yes we are running out of steam but no wonder with the amount of games we have played and injuries have stopped us having a settled side. I like your passion for villa. we are disappointed of late but what a season we have had. remember how we felt when we lossed 4.0 to fulham under gerrard. we have great owners a first class manager and a developing team. This is still a project and probably being in champions league is perhaps a little ahead from what we expected. Im 75 years of age and stood in the Holt when we had just 11,000 plus in a relagation season. Ive seen it all and survived the ups and downs but Ive never felt so optimistic as I do today UTV

Crystal Palace look like they have only just started the season and are on fire, and Liverpool will want to give Klopp a good send off on their final away game. With Spurs having Sheffield and Burnley to play there could be a hefty goal swing, so we can't rely on Man City beating them...we need to pull some magic out of the bag in the last 2 games still

No doubt injuries are catching up. To many relying on results. That's the worst thing. It's in our hands still. I don't want to hear this tiredness exuse. Get back a few from injuries and stand up to be counted, not go missing when the heat is on simple as that leadership.

Spurs are done...have been saying this since Villa beat Arsenal and the 2-2 against Chelsea..for me with flaky nature of Spurs it would have finished them..and has proved to be true...i genuinely believe Villa wont need to score another point this season to finish 4th..biggest disappointment for me was the semi final first leg...been a great season though. most weeks have been brilliant ...lots to look forward to in the future.

If we'd lost 2 -0 against Olympiacos it wouldn't seem like such an uphill battle but we'd still have the same job to do .. 3 - 0 to the Villa on thursday

This is not a gripe or sour grapes but you can understand why our lads were Fatigued, tiredness and injuries which is mounting up , When we played Lille and Olympiakos , their respective FA,s gave them 2 weeks off !! yes 2 weeks off , lying on a beach drinking Pina Colada and factor 10 . hang your heads in shame English FA. and they wonder why the english clubs have not done well in Europe!!!........having said that this year as been nothing short of miraculous , absolutely incredible without a shadow of a doubt , i have been a die hard fan for 50 years , seen the good and more recently the bad , genuine and heartfelt , we have been nothing short of PERFECTION , spurs will not win 3 games end of , we do not even need a point !!! , either way , 4th is ours and lets not forget Thursday , we can still beat these , Dodgy penalty decision , deflected goal, we missed a penalty , Bailey should have had a penalty , and here is the best !!! they are leaking in goals galore at home , so we can do this guys , Emery knows this and he is far from silly ......believe and we will deliver , booked tickets and hotel for thursday ......you guys are so special.....100%agree lads

tensions are high. I got angry drunk during Olympiacos down casino and got kicked out. woke up the same and went work, then Igot my ass fired friday morning for "discussing" things with my boss at the site. Now Brighton loss killed my trifecta and lost my money. But Villa IS going Champions League next year (and there are other jobs and future moneys too). Time for some positive performances to finish strong then ain't it Villa. Goes both ways, been stop start all this year since crimbo. Had a great season but it could've been better if not for so many poor games where we either didn't turn up or blew a 2 nil lead. Yes players are tired n all that if that's the excuse but use the squad more, rotate a bit, play Tim, Kellyman,Duran occasionally/more to rest the stars, they might surprise you,that's what a squad is for. One more good performance in the league is crucial now, just to make sure. Let's stick it to the higher ups & media idiots that hate us. Yes sometimes I'm critical but it's totally justified, I just want us to be better because we can be with a little more application. 💜💙 UTV

yes, disappointing, but 1-0 from a penalty kick rebound is certainly not a hiding. Olsen proved himself again, can we finally agree that every player in a Villa shirt deserves our full support? i think our ball control wasn't too bad, we just couldn't create enough chances. the week before last was stellar, last week, not so much. but this is a new week with new opportunities, travelling far and near. let's see what tune the Villa boys from Aston strike up this time around. Up The Villa!
