I sure can Kenneth... U have to do it the same way all experience drivers does it. U need to go to a job as a material handler/ labourer and during brakes and lunch or last half hour of work ask the supervisor to have someone train you... But u gotta work real hard as a material handler so the supervisor will like u. Another plus is to look for a afternoon or night shift. As operators become more experience they move to the day shift thus leaving space for more operators at night. 3 more new videos coming soon

Started off doing container unloading and wrapping pallets, and used to asked the supervisors if I could jump on the counter balance. Slowly they started giving me more driving time and been on order pickers full time for the past six months. Still jump on the counter balance and reach every now and than so that I dont lose touch. First couple of months is hard but it gets you there. My counter balance instructor had said to me when I got my license "The license does not mean you know how to drive, it means you now start learning" Everyday you learn something new, every machine handles differently, so you have to adapt, but thats what makes it more fun..

I have used Order pickers at Amazon in the U.K along with PPT and DLPPT, Tug and Stackers but the ones I use lift you 45ft up to the highest part of the racking. There's a lot more to driving one of those then he explained especially when VNA (Very narrow isle cages are clamped onto the back of it, There's a lot of things to check off on a pre use check sheet for the MHE and the cage itself. These are no jokes if one of the hydraulic pumps blow and mess up because you failed to do the checks properly there's only one way you're going and that's DOWN. I know a guy who were checking his over and the pumps behind the mast burst and when it did he were standing in front of it and it literally almost blew half his face off because of the pressure that came with it. Please always check your MHE properly and NEVER take short cuts just because you're managers tell you to hurry up and get to work. I'd rather you spend the 10-15 minutes checking it right then having someone to perform CPR on you or someone else.

uh you don't move the pit while up in the air my brothas i've seen nasty accidents because of this, move up to the bin then raise it get your stuff then lower it all the way down before making a move, you only move up in the air IF the warehouse is equipped with wire guidance aisles and have no control over the steering

Ahh so that's how you operate an order picker. Tomorrow night will be my first day of training at Amazon. You made it look so easy...thanks! 👍😃

I don't think Amazon uses these much at all. I worked at a fulfillment center for almost 2 years. They use Crown RCs primarily and for the ones that have racking they a Crown TSP. Center riders are also used for some stuff. This is all dock work though, there's only a few people usually who drive on the dock. Most people are gonna be doing kiva stow/pick or in the outbound department doing packing. Some Amazon facilities use Raymond because Crown wasn't able to process the intense amount of orders Amazon needs for all the new places they open, and still be able to fulfill all their other customers. Unfortunately the one I worked at was one of the sad receivers of Raymond equipment.

@@Jaker788 I work at the new facility in Riverside CA that is mostly "PIT" contained with only a small packing and picking sections. I found out on the day of training that I will be packing instead of operating a order picker or as they like to call them a "PIT" machine. But my co-workers who have driven these pieces of equipment, said that it's pretty scary since they wobble a lot, especially when you're way up in the air!

I had to drive this thing today at amazon and it was kind of hard. I crashed so hard into a pole and I couldn’t match the wire up with the machine. I did it a couple times but sometimes I struggled. Everyone else got it the first try except for me. I still have to go back for training tomorrow. 😢
