I couldn't find this type of plum. But I'll try making something similar to this with a more polished plum.
thank you for the recipe! i used to get onigiri with pickled plum as a kid but the cafe i got them from stopped making them and i havnt been able to find them anywhere else in my city. ill have to try making these hopefully they turn out as good as yours !

My great grandmother was half Korean I know it’s a totally different culture but I don’t know if I could eat this. I dislike pickles so if it tastes anything like it I know I wouldn’t enjoy it

Hi, I loved the video and I'm planning on trying out the recipe, but I wanted to ask: does shiso have another name I can find it by? Or is there something I could use to replace it? I don't think I'll find it in my city.

It is red perilla leaves. It may be easier to buy seeds online and plant your own if you don’t have Japanese or Vietnamese grocery stores.

Can you use normal America plums or do you have to use the type in the video

I have not tried with American plum. You may try with unripe apricot.

저 진짜 학교에서 일본어 쌤이 우메보시 주셨다가 먹고 토할뻔 했잖아요 짜고 신 썩은 찰흙느낌 ㅠㅠ
절임물부어서 쪽쪽하게 보관하면 더 맛있어요
Red shiso is unavailable. Which one you recommended to instead of?

You can skip shiso. It will still taste good.

I am not sure because the water content might be different and flavor might be different. You can try though!

작년에는 캘리포니아주에 있는 일본 마트 니지야에서 구했는데 올해부터 키타자와시드에서 씨앗을 사서 직접 재배하고 있어요
