@@ruggedtobby lol. Because if you ask him, he'd tell you the same. Almost all manners and practices we learn from childhood is through religion. "Cleanliness is half the religion" is a saying of the Prophet almost any child will be able to tell you. And that goes into formal teaching through "adab", look it up. Cleaning before eating was an almost exclusively Muslim thing for centuries. Muslims have been doing that since the Prophet SAWW taught us this. Islam is not just a faith with some rituals, it's a way of life. And cleanliness is a big part of it.
