Ultrasonic Sound Gun (Parametric Speaker)

For this project I built a gun that shoots out a narrow beam of ultrasonic audio. The sound can only be heard by people inside the narrow beam, or through a nearby source when the audio gets demodulated.
I was inspired to build this project after watching CodeParades / @codeparade awesome video Turning Sound Into a Laser: • Turning Sound Into a L... .
I definitely recommend watching his video before you watch mine.
Ive seen parametric speakers for sale but I wanted to make one on my own.
It works by taking an audio source, in this case a Bluetooth speaker circuit, which then gets modulated to 40khz through a 555 timer circuit. From the 555 timer the output gets amplified and then is then sent to an array of ultrasonic transducers.
40khz is outside of the audible human range which means we cant hear it, however once the sound waves strike an object, the 40khz sound gets demodulated and you can hear the sound that's playing over the bluetooth speaker module. Because you cant hear the ultrasonic sound, It makes it seem like the sound is coming from the object. If you stand in the narrow beam of sound waves the sound can be heard, but standing just outside the beam the audio is silent.

newbie Q.. i'm guessing the way to power the 5v parts of the circuit is to use a resistor to drop the ~10v you feed to those cheesy amp chips.. i ran the ~5v from my batts to those parts, and into a voltage booster to provide the 10v, it ain't working but i'm waiting on an oscilloscope to find out where. wondering if my inexperience with multivoltage circuits is the problem.

Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) is an acoustic hailing device, sound cannon and sonic weapon[1] developed by LRAD Corporation. Law enforcement organizations and the manufacturer claim that LRAD systems are primarily designed for long-range communications[2] however, the device has an extremely high decibel capacity, and is controversially used as a less-lethal weapon for crowd control. According to the manufacturer's specifications, the systems weigh from 15 to 320 pounds (6.8 to 145.1 kg) and can emit sound in a 30-60° beam at 2.5 kHz.[3] The manufacturer also produces systems for public address and mass notification use that broadcast 360°.[4] LRAD systems are used by law enforcement, government and defense agencies, as well as maritime and commercial security companies to broadcast audible notifications and warnings over distance. LRAD systems are also used to deter wildlife from airport runways, wind and solar farms, nuclear power facilities, gas and oil platforms, mining and agricultural operations, and industrial plants.

I always kind of knew they were using some kind of laser- like device to mess with me because I get this random dot-like headaches all the time. I do not know what they are using to mess with me but now that I am doing my research it all makes sense. I still do not know what they are using, but I will find out. Is this like a stethoscope, if i use stethoscope and shoot sound can reach to other location right? So ultrasonic is being used to attack my senses? Then how come such thing is not in my power to create a solution as our belief of good health is different? It is because of invasion right, then in the end its like i am the laughing stock in their view right due to they have the same belief? If i have this i will shoot around as revenge but who witness this to ignore, even if i am being claimed as the attacker of their life when its their misfortune? So it became logic that i am the criminal/startertotrybully if i attack back the way of reaching sound to mental attack right? If nobody answer then who is the remaining people that understand english or malay? I assume like known situation because of my name being said even in music. So what should i do, as waiting is time wasted unless its just the sun heat, they refuge on answers to gain defence to themselves and of course will deny torture intent right, what i have to go through this like nobody cares, because they insist to look very stable liking doctrine as a criminal that try to bully.

How can I detect this? I keep hearing people saying things to me but I don't know how their voices reach me. It is so annoying that I have tried to harm myself multiple times. I feel that someone in my neighborhood is trying to scare, threaten and harm me.

@@MohammadThePharmacist Well if you are certain , 100% certain this is not a mental issue and is physical, then you can in fact Block it. An acoustic corner reflector would efficiently reflect the sound directly back at the LRAD source as long as the reflector faces were larger than about a wavelength (for 1Khz sound, that would be about 1 foot). If you built a roughly human sized corner reflector with a hard front surface and sound adsorbing foam backing, (and wore earplugs), it should do a pretty effective job of blocking the high frequency LRAD sound while making the LRAD operator quite uncomfortable from the reflected sound. Edit: Here is an actual paper on a similar device used as a sonar target (pdf): Improvement for Detection Distance of Sonar by Flat Acoustic Reflector

using a 555 for generating a stable 40khz is a BAD IDEA. It is not stable, it is not accurate. In fact the components you have used would theoretically give you ~44.5Khz, which when fed to 40khz ultrasonic transducers would result in an output at LEAST 10dB down. With precision generator and with proper tuning you would achieve at least 10x the power.

Arent these levels of ultrasound energy dangerous? Like IR lasers - we cannot see the beam, but it strill very bad for eyes... And BTW isnt that the reason microphones cannot catch it clear - because of very high ultrasound energy that overloads them...?
