These vids must be fun for you to produce. These are the comics I enjoy seeing and learning about. These are so much cooler than Marvel Comics keys in my opinion any day.

I like your introduction and brief history of the Golden Age comics. Very organised nice 👏

One of my favourite things to find is CBCS comics that don't have any copies on the CGC Census 🤗

Great video and summary Alan. I was not aware that My Comic Shop even had auctions. I wish that CBCS head auction is on heritage to give CBCS more exposure in the marketplace as a strong contender for grading.

There are really serious collectors out there buying these amazing books today. Love the content Allen!

Jumbo Comics 1 is the size of a placemat so it's too big currently for CGC or CBCS to slab.

@@ComicCollectorGeek The first 8 issues of Jumbo are placemat sized and the 9th is magazine sized. After that, they are normal. They were so hard to store nicely that nearly all are low grade from wear and tear over the decades.

I placed a few bids on this Oxford collection, and no surprises, I seriously lost all my bids. 😅 Alan, which Oxford book(s) did you bid on because I'm sure you did? You said the book with Popeye on cover wasn't his first. I saw a Popeye "Thimble" small book that sold very well in this same auction. Was that his 1st appearance? 🤔

Congrats and a good price for Popeye's first appearance! I think you got the real steal of the week. Be sure to please show in future unboxing. I doubt it's listed on census because it looks smaller than the Pocket Comics #1 shown plus it's raw. Now that I know, maybe one day I'll find it. 😊

Ok, now I have to ask ... you don't have any relatives in Rhode Island, do you? My wife asks because she knows someone in Rhode Island who has a brother who collects comics, lives in Canada, and blogs (and that's all I got).

LOL probably not me....but, my mother was born and grew up in Rhode Island.

I would think something like Gpanalysis has enough SW infrastructure in place they should be able to do the same thing they do for CBCS books that they do CGC books. That is, report their sales relatively easily. Same for GoCollect.
