Ultra light dual sport Amazon X pro Storm 150 DLX motorcycle upgrades.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I have wanted a simple light weight street /Trail dual sport dirt bike. I looked at many different brands of pit bikes available on Amazon and other websites Cheap / Affordable) there’s many different brands Tao Tao, Apollo, Trailmaster. I bought this mini adventure dual sport bike, it’s the X Pro Storm 150cc DLX. Because they are Amazon bikes I wasn’t expecting much but after riding It a bit i think its going to be a fairly good bike. This video covers upgrades, some free and others cost a little bit, just keeping a realistic approach not to spend a bunch of money on a cheap bike.

I like your rationale at the end. I ride with a group of guys that only think bigger is better. They obviously can’t ride as well without a 1100cc monster. I also find they most of them are fairly novice riders without the pain to their body or wallet that comes with bigger bikes. I have been riding for 30 years and now find myself moving toward these smaller bikes. They offer a huge amount of fun and confidence out of the box at a low price of entry. My kids are also just getting into dirt bikes and these are the perfect trail bike for that purpose. Thanks for the content.

Apparently there are those who don't know that Mikie installed a lawnmower type engine on a larger Japanese dirt bike chassis, and made it work for next to nothing... He's doing his thang, and sharing it with us. So some of y'all need to either sit back and let Mikie ride his things his way ,spending his own money on and labor on them,or maybe just stfu and enjoy what you're watching for free 😉

I bought my son xpro sail 150. Same bike no lights. We have modified cdi box, front sproket 16th, rear shock adjustable rebound/preload dhm, thicker fork oil, ported cylinder head myself. Z40 big cam, ported exhaust header and muffler gutted, Dunlop mx34 tires, renthal kx high bend bars, nibbi pe24 carb, iridium spark plug is cut, hour rpm counter. Only have had to replace hand grip, handle bar, clutch and brakelevers. We have 25hrs on it. Great bike for anyone mechanical. Would highly recommend. Thank you for your content. Btw in wa too 😀

That all sounds great. The iridium plugs are hard on CDI's though. They have too much resistance for the need. But you did state "modified CDI" so maybe your's can take it without burning out. Happy Trails :).

I’ve had my Storm 150 for about a month. I upgraded to the Nibbi PE24 and filter, chain, 16T sprocket, and new exhaust. The Nibbi made a big difference. I moved the needle to the highest/5th position. It’s all working well together. The National Forest trails have been closed due to rain in S/E Texas. Hopefully I can get out there soon.

Mike, I bored my bike out with a 180cc kit and cornered through every daughter, mother, father, forefather and so fort. Big guys couldn't steer their 500cc to 1000cc properly until they saw me ripping, and their common responses were throttling out to get away from me. Good to know small bike can put a smile on my face for life instead of purchasing a bigger one. I sold my 2nd hand Multi and Fatbob because wifey wanted a car, and my first FZ-06 was bargained for a scooter to pick up groceries. Now she couldn't stop me or my XR😂 Marketing wants the youth to be another salesman and the old to spend their retirements. Leave them to bite the dust! Pit bike for life!

Just waiting on the mso paperwork work then we can register it. Thanks for doing these videos. Mike, the best part of this video is watching your boy having a blast! Thanks for trying out these bikes. Im in the market for a modern air cooled 250 since i pooched the motor on my 83 XT250 (my fault). Really would like EFI so a late model XT or a CRF250F are top of the list. I was looking at the CRF250F at the dealership and was pretty disappointed on how hideous the frame welds look. I really think these Chinese bike are making leaps and bounds in quality and some of the Japanese bikes that have outsourced manufacturing to other countries are no better as far as build quality, they just cost more. Peace.

Just found your channel. I can tell you what, raced motocross back in the late 70s, restored many old ct70s and ct90s back 15 years ago, been a mechanic my whole life (retired Alaska Airlines mechanic) and you got it figured out when it comes to dirt bikes. And dam you rip in the woods! ( You would probably really rip on a real motorcycle, just kidding). I actually put a china lifan 125 in one of my last ct70s retores. Put a 17T on it with the RK chain I always normally buy and it's crazy fast. Use it to burn up dirt roads in Alaska. Turns a lot of heads. Been searching for a fun pit bike. Was thinking of a klx300 but I like the small stuff. Thanks for making these great videos. I get teased about my bike selection also, it's fine.

Great vid and content Mike! I have the Xpro 125 bigwheel, picked it up last year as a spare small bike. I'm having similar experiences with it as you are. I've put the Nibbi 22 on it and it really woke it up. Jetting the nibbi is a little challenging though. Stock was fine and lean, but i also wanted some more adjustments that the Nibbi has. I also have gas gas mc 450, ktm 300exc, kx250f, TLR200's, trail 110, 0:16 and a Rokon. People don't realize these small bikes have their place. Much of the single track i ride you have a hard time on with a heavy bike. Keep making these good videos.

DNM makes really nice adjustable rear shocks. I'm running one on my Orion RXB150XL. I got the model with the reservoir that has more adjustability. Had to get a slightly shorter shock than the one that came on it and run a shock extender so I could clock the rezzy to the side. The rear shock is night and day difference, totally worth the money. These 150s are so much fun around town and in the trails.

I've got the 250 templar just like yours .I also have the rfz 125. I've done all the necessary mods like you have. I actually bought a second 250 templar for my son. He got his street legal. I took all street legal off my 250 except headlight . I ride it hard on trails it's a good bike. All of them are. If your not mechanical and don't like to work on bikes and aren't good at modifying parts I would suggest these amazon bikes. But like you Mike I really enjoy all of it. Here's the reason I'm messaging you. Brake fluid change on these bikes and the original brake fluids came out black?¿? New brake fluid. Front shocks I dumped that oil out. Black also. New shock fluid added a little more than I measured. No more bottoming out . P.s. keep an eye out on the templars top motor mount. Mine broke on both sides. Very excited to see more of your videos...especially on the templar. Good luck and happy trails

Mike, another great video! Let the haters hate… you’re obviously a bike enthusiast, and man you got me excited about wanting to ride one of the Coleman’s and I haven’t ridden a trail bike since I was a kid in the late 70’s early 80’s. Best part is you have your son interested and that is cool as hell… and what it’s all about. Riding isn’t about the biggest and baddest, it’s what interests you, it’s awesome you want to get out and try different things.

These cheap little Chinese pit bikes are a lot of fun. My Trailmaster TM29 is also made by "Zuma" and has the identical frame but it's a 125cc w/ 17" and 14" wheels. Fun bike to have kicking around and let people ride. If it blows up or gets wrecked or the cops steal (impound) it, no huge loss. Mine's seems pretty durable for what it is.

  • @Mikefestiva

Thanks for checking out my new video! Yes my son really has been enjoying riding dirt bikes and quads 😊 I don’t know if I will mess with much internal on the engine, maybe a cam? But that’s probably all. There’s a 190cc engine that’s a 5 speed available that puts out 19HP compared to 10 this engine produces, I think the 190cc maybe something worth going with at some point. But for now I really just want to see how well everything holds up. I wanted to test these bikes out and review my results with others to see if they will actually hold up long term or not. Take care 😊

Hi mike.this is Mike from lake havasu Arizona. I got the same 150 x pro like yours.i ended up making some lowering plates and dropped the shock a little. Easier to get on and off of bike.that 2nd top whole was not a shock hole like I was hoping.so I made my own mod.installed a nibbi 26 and the bike rips for what it is.needle was sent in middle groove.i moved it to top groove on needle.seems to be perfect for me.ill keep an eye on the plug to make sure it doesn't get lean.the stock carb was giving me a white plug.thanks for inspiring me to get that bike.mike from havasu

Right on I’m glad you swapped out that carb! I still haven’t installed mine, the rain just keeps coming down in Washington, hopefully the weather gets better soon. Sorry about mentioning the other hole was to lower the bike, I heard someone else say it was for that and I looked like it would fit, unfortunately as you mentioned it doesn’t. Have fun on you bike Mike!
