Pretty sure you could drop that 150 and put a Lifan 230 direct bolt in on that thing. Looks like the same exact engine, just different bore. They're all basically copies of an old honda engine.

I bought a Lifan GY 5 200cc dualsport from a local dealer in 2006. 1650 OTD. It is now 2024 and I will be riding it as I have every summer since 2006. Bike has needed tires, batteries, oil changes and valve adjustments. Has been a very good bike.

I just put together an X pro Templar 250. Some caveat if you’re going to put on a Nibbi carburetor buy some extra fuel line and American made stainless steel hose clamps and run your fuel line off of your Nibbi before you install it. It will save you an amount of time and frustration that’s worth every penny for the extra fuel line. I also put a navy ignition and an NGK iridium spark plug on the bike. Do this while it’s all tore down it’s very simple. when you start adding parts everything becomes more and more complex and harder to get to. With the spark plug chances are you never ever going to have to change it. If you are even think of changing the gear ratio which I did it’s so much nicer to do it on an absolutely clean bike and putting a high-quality chain on while you’re doing this I would recommend. For the rubber parts such as the bodywork A little bit of clear Vaseline as well as on the fairing bolts as well. It will keep your rubber from deteriorating just a little bit longer. If you do buy a chain do yourself a favor buy a chain breaking tool learn how to rivet the chain on and don’t use the master link type that can uncouple. Just some thoughts I tend to keep my stuff and take care of it for a long time. I hope this helps

You should have bought a Lifan KP Mini 150. Lifan bikes are really good quality. In 2006 I bought a LF20 GY 5. This is a 200 cc Lifan Dual Sport. from a local dealer. It is now 2024 and I plan on riding it again as I have every summer since I bought it. It has been like a Honda as far as reliability goes. One rear tire batteries and tune ups and valve adjustments and oil changes. Just a great bike. Lifan has a great reputation. Oh well good luck.

Nothing but riding pleasure. Lifan is a happy medium between his cheap bike and a Honda. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Buy the way it was bought from a local dealer who also sold Yamaha. 1650.00 OTD.

If you put it together correctly, loctite and grease everything, do all the upgrades that make sense, off-road tires, better hardware, etc... is there any aftermarket exhaust and any suspension upgrades available? Can this bike be hooligan-capable and constantly bang off the rev limiter without big issues?

With these China bikes, you have to be willing to troubleshoot and tinker a bit, as that is where your cost savings are. If that is no good, then spend real money and buy a Grom. Lots of people are learning to wrench or look up troubleshooting videos and broadening their wrenching skills with these bikes. I don't see too many people complaining about quality as much as they are happy to have some reasonable, cheap riding. Ya sometimes the details are missed on the china bikes, but parts are available and people are working ways around the issues, still at huge cost savings over established brands.

@@lmfscrew What exactly am l projecting? I have a Masters degree and drive a K24 Honda... I'm just tired of all the FJB t-shirts and you all blaming him for gas prices when you choose to drive THE least fuel efficient vehicles on the planet!

You have a masters degree and can't see you're the only one talking about politics? I made a video showcasing an affordable alternative to a honda grom. I don't recall mentioning joe, t-shirts, gas prices or my truck in this video. Matter of fact I never talk politics on this channel because it's a brain dead conversation as you're showcasing. I'll quit the bickering here. Have a good one Anthony. Go touch some grass and try living without political animosity.
