SAN ANTONIO MAERSK is still in its Hamburg Süd orange livery (Cap San Antonio) 🧡 but will be soon dry-docked and be repainted with the MÆRSK colors. 💙 OOCL SPAIN is one to highlight cause we all know its one of the MegaMax (MGX-24) with a capacity of 24,118 TEU - currently one of the largest in the world behind MSC IRINA (24,436 TEU). 🖤

How come the cargo ships always have tugs and the cruise ships can (usually) manoeuvre themselves?

Large cruise ships are equipped with pod thrusters that can rotate 360 degrees and bow thrusters at the front of the ship, because sometimes they need to maneuver at very small local port without tugs. These containerships are just designed to sail between well equipped large ports, so they just use tugs to help them.
