He wanted to watch out for any interruptions. I think Ribriane wanted to attack Goku mid-way but Vegeta put a stop to it. Its not that he didnt want to help Goku but that his hands were tied up in that moment.

I was the exact same when I watched this for the first time 5 years ago. I think I even screamed "OH F*CK YOU!!!!" after Rebrianne surfaced a few times. She long overstays her welcome by the time of the 3rd episode she's in.

Mannnn, i remember watching this when it aired and it was SOOOOO HYPE! It still is. Seeing him just 1000 yard stare at jiren with the musiccc. Its perfection.

"Hard to believe I couldn't land a blow when I was at Blue with Kaio-ken Times 20!" Jiren: Sorry, was I supposed to understand any of that?

Goku is saving blue for when he really needs it as this tournament is a test of stamina as much as it is raw power. That's why he isn't just staying in blue.

No, first time doing it he just couldn't sustain it. Its about going off his instincts free of thought just precise instinctual reaction. That's why he only achieves at this point when he is on the absolute brink of death. When his eyes flickered he started thinking too much and snapped out of it. The explain it when he turns again... after near dying by jiren again.

Don’t worry about the Autonomous part of it. That’s just something the English Dub added to fill the lip movements of the characters. You can just call it Ultra Instinct. Like with Top being best known by his Japanese name, Toppo.

People don't like the tournament of power for the same reason that you are complaining it's because Goku isn't fighting at his full strength for most of the time the excuse is that he's conserving his energy but others like Gohan just get rag doll anyway. Basically the power scaling is all over the place.

Fun Fact: Ultra Instinct comes from Mushin No Shin meaning “mind without mind”. It’s a REAL LIFE mental state that martial artists and practitioners of meditation attempt to attain constantly. It’s when someone’s mind is absolutely clear of thoughts of anger, fear or even ego and becomes completely open to act or react to an opponent without being obstructed by thoughts. It’s not entirely reflex, which is usually for defense, but offense as well. In other words your body moves and acts on it’s own while you are both controlling and not controlling it. I’ve achieved it maybe 3 or 4 times in my life during training and it’s absolutely surreal.

the ultra instinct theme music is my favorite. it gets me pumped every time.

18:16 id assume the thought process is "none of us can best jiren so we need to fight him together, and we need to do it now while we still have as many fighters as possible, rather than later when were down a universe or two" or something to that effect

What i love the most about this arc (besides Freeza) is that we get to see how much Beerus has started to care about Goku and his progression as a fighter; how much faith and respect the cat has for him, annoying as he might be.

i warched this for the first time recently. there has not been a more epic introduction to a super fighter like they did for jiren. too strong 💪

I'm Italian and I don't know if it's normal but I've noticed that in English reactions many tend to be surprised by everything like over reaction, in the part where you see the red aura mixed with the blue one perhaps because it was the first time you've seen it but it was something that had already been discovered in the previous saga when goku fights beerus in space, otherwise I like these reactions

These episodes are so damn hype still. Jiren is probably my favourite character added in super him just being this stoic wall like we’ve never seen.

Frieza: it's like namek all over again Goku: so can I get a meat lovers?

Although Vegeta didn't share his energy for the spirit bomb, he did kinda share it in a roundabout way by Galick Gunning Ribrianne to stop her from interrupting the spirit bomb. Saving his energy ended up letting him be even more of a team player.

Another fun fact: while the anime use the Spirit Bomb as the trigger for Ultra Instinct, in the manga it was the accumulation of Goku's training throughout the years from Korin, Kami, King Kai, and Whis that caused it to awaken. But he only awaken for like five secs before it timed out. The next he triggered it, he was able to sustain it. Also Beerus was able use and demonstrate it against the other G.O.Ds in the Xeno Expose in the manga

One of my favorite fights of DBS. I am glad there are even more amazing fights to contend with that The first autonomous ultra instinct showing.

Before these 2 episodes were released I was getting really disappointed by the Tournament Of Power. But I can confidently say that these 2 episodes really kept me watching hard.

When it aired, this was actually a one hour double episode. It broke the internet and even porn sites went down from the traffic because the streaming sites all shut down from the activity and people started uploading it to other sites instead.

I still remember when these episodes came out like it was yesterday. I kid you not, they broke the whole damn Internet.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the moments why we are watching all of these episodes, bbbbbbbooooosssstttt the algorithm!!!!!!

These are very significant moments that I am glad to see Melons reaction to all this as its perfect, the shock at the effect on UI Goku, the moves being utterly different for Goku, the music and images. Its how I felt at the time.

Glad you enjoyed the episodes..there's gonna be even crazier episodes, the last 4 episodes in particular. Jiren wasn't fighting at full power but it's not over yet. You're almost at the end of the first half of the tournament. And about Frieza, just remember what happened back on Namek!!

To give u a bit of perspective. When you move fast, people are able to see the afterimage or the "blur." For example, the flash. He moves fast, so things are portrayed as slower to him. As an animator, to show how fast someone is moving, another example is Dash from Incredibles, the scene where they were trying to prove dash was the one that did thr incident with the tac, yet he looked like he didnt move at all. They animated both Jiren and Goku in a way that yes They are fighting, but you see them standing still. That eye effect is for us viewers to indicate somthing is happening. Jiren stood still, and goku was hitting the attacks of Jiren that you see flying around. Aka the after images of his fists, even though he's not moving. This was so beautifully done.

Glad you did these 2 episodes in one, it broke the internet when it first came out. So did episode 116 and 130, and you'll understand wants ya see it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR REACTIONS, QUITE ACCURATE AND GENUINE.

This episode was wild! Ultra Instinct is astoundingly cool in looks and power, but it doesn't last long at all... Either way, the Tournament of Power was by far my favorite part of DBS.

i just loved jiren's dignity when goku almost destroyed jiren and he asked goku to finish him and then suddenly goku's energy destroyed himself from within, jiren didn't want to throw him off guard but just because of his destroyer's order, he had to do it. At that moment, Jiren had my respect.

UI is real. And he does go farther in the Manga. When Roshi said the calmness was creepy i lol and cried and loved it. He was tutored by both Popo in DB and Whis in super to do ui . Watching you watch this is awesome kiddo. Keep it up your awesome

Do you wanna know whats funny. Its the idea that Ribrianne's goal is to send love throughout ALL UNIVERSES... They will all be erased so their wouldn't be any point to send love knowing that her universe is already filled with it....... Also reasons that they knew is because the base forms for Angels is Mastered Ultra Instincts but on a level beyond perfection. And that's the reasons for their hair being white and not just because they're ancient asf

Lore-wise the spirit bomb can be redirected by those with pure hearths, jinren is not evil far from that, at that point is just a rope war with an orangutan, for a fighting genius he severely miss judge his opponent

to the best of my knowledge they call it autonomous ultra instinct in the English version because it matches the lip flaps better.

Yes Melon he did something similar before, it was during Freeza Saga where he was almost not moving at all dodging the Genyu forces attacks.. but that time it was not ultra instinct he was just incredibly faster that them.
