MOD UPDATE!
Instead of using the classic or stock front outer turnbuckle end (like i did in the vid, which is threaded for 4mm and you have to force it over the 5mm rear rod).
If you look in your extra parts bag, given to you by arrma when you purchase the truck, they actually provide a canted or slightly curved beefy rod end that is threaded for 5mm. Its not used anywhere in the stock load out... and I'm surprised I missed bringing it up in my video, but you can use it, and its threaded for 5mm.
Just make sure that the distance from end to end (using the rear turnbuckle rod in the front, is the same length that your current (classic) turn buckle assembly is. On my Kraton, and what the video shows, I believe it's 135mm. this will provide the tanky rod ends AND the tank rod for the front. hope that all makes sense... let me know.

Interested in the SPRINGS I run?
10lb 1631 Springs - ORDER 4 (ATTN! - Require a Dremel to modify/flatten Ends!!!)
(5000 or 3000cst diff fluid all around (your choice) and for sure recommended M2C caps/pistons)
These are much more plush then the 10548 springs, but still a massive upgrade from stock.
www.mwcomponents.com/shop/sp-...
FYI - This company has changed over to MWcomponents, they may require you to make a $40 dollar minimum purchase, otherwise they tack on a 15 dollar surcharge. So to avoid that, consider to buy 8 springs, and maybe get yourself options.
If your Rig is in the 14-15 pound range, pick the 1631 set) for your RIG. Consider to order 4 of the 10548's as a back up for if your Setup gets heavier over time from upgrades.
ATTN - Stock may be and issue, so order them... and they should get back ordered.
Past springs Ive used.
18lb 10548 Springs - ORDER 4
(5000cst diff fluid all around, and recommended M2C caps/pistons)
For 16lb plus rigs, provides for a bit stiffer ride experience, but great springs!

hope that helps

  • @EastTactics

    While it was nice that lunsford had a titanium variant, keep in mind the only benefit to theirs was simply a few ounces of weight savings (if that) compared to the stock metal rear turnbuckles. Strength wise, the stock rod is the same strength just very slightly heavier. Ultimately what I'm saying is, go ahead and pick up the EXB rear classic turnbuckles and you will still be taking full advantage of this upgrade modification. Also be sure to watch this quick tip that came out later regarding this MOD. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6qGtLt8pLWac9I.html The turnbuckle Rod - amzn.to/3XaeQ8I

    IMO the bendy RPM arms are what cause extra stress on the turnbuckles and axle shafts. The V5 arms are super tough to eliminate that extra stress. I like RPM wing mounts because they bend, but I'm not so sure it's a good thing in the arms. Sweet turnbuckles! I ordered some!

    I still run the stock hubs in the rear. I just haven't had any issues with them and agree no need to upgrade those just yet. they do come with a lot of slop however so I highly recommend watching this video to address that. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eXhlktBsqsmnqM4.html As far as the front hot racing hubs go... they are amazing, Hands down a must upgrade from stock in my opinion. Don't have to worry about the balls popping out now. But I agree you might as well wait to upgrade them until you have issue.

    Follow the instructions on this mod idea, use the rear turnbuckle rod, and the inner rear beefy composite rod end (for the front inner). Now...Instead of using the classic or stock front outer turnbuckle end (like i did in the vid, which is threaded for 4mm and you have to force it over the 5mm rear rod). On my Kraton, and what the video shows, I believe it's 135mm. this will provide the tanky rod ends AND the tank rod for the front. hope that all makes sense... let me know.

    So with the rid ends covering the threads , are they still less prone to breaking , even if you still use the 4mm Lunsford rod in the front ?

  • @EastTactics

    @EastTactics

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes, I would say that the Lunsford design is better even if you use the 4 mm rod ends in the front. Because that common breakpoint on the stock version does happen on those threads, which technically are even less than 4 mm thickness. Since the Lunsford replace that brake point with an actual 4 mm piece of material. So your Lunsford 4 mm rod ends are going to be stronger by a slight amount.

  • @EastTactics

    @EastTactics

    3 жыл бұрын

    I don’t think so. For a basher you do want the rear section of front tire to be slightly (not super) toed in, and opposite on the back. An over exaggerated way to remember how you want your front and rear camber and toe to look from staring straight down top view of your vehicle is an hourglass⏳. At least that’s how I like to remember it. I’m not sure what you’re aiming for though, are you more of a basher or a speed runner? kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqmBrdymlKi2o7Q.html

    It's working great, the only thing that I would do differently if you were to do this tactic. Is instead of drilling out the hole in the rod end to accommodate for the 5 mm shaft. Don't bother drilling it out. Simply force the 5 mm shaft into the 4 mm hole. This retains a bit of strength in the plastic. But yeah it's been working great

    did you really call Lunsford "off brand"? Lol They.ve been making the best turnbuckles available for like 30 years,,,

    I guess you’re right, I really didn’t mean it as an insult though... I meant to just basically imply that they are not the stock part. I hope that my video as a whole gives a vibe that I wholeheartedly promote Lunsford’s quality turnbuckles.

    @@EastTactics Love your videos overall, and have learned quite a few things from them. Still a fan, I was just surprised by that comment. I thought maybe you were new to the hobby. Either way though, you're a great resource for Kraton owners. I've found the shim and diff info especially invaluable and see people referencing your work online. Keep doing a great job!
