My wife didn't know who Mysterio was, so she was completely shocked by the twist that he was a villain. So great to witness such a pure reaction!

@@lowkeylokii4205She's actually a fairly intuitive movie watcher, often predicting plot points in movies. But Mysterio was well-written and played brilliantly by Jake Gyllenhaal as to give very little reason to suspect he was the villain. Plus, the MCU introduced new heroes by the handful in most movies, she TOTALLY didn't see it coming, and it made it so fun to watch with her. I didn't know where the twist would happen myself, so I was on the edge of my seat watching both the screen AND her reaction. 😁

I've binged Pitch Meetings a few times now, and I genuinely didn't notice how Screenwriter Guy and Producer Guy went from grounded studio execs to grinning, balls to the wall psychopaths until Honest Trailers pointed it out. What I'm saying is, basically, character development is TIGHT!

Best part was the director enjoyed his Green Goblin smile so much he had him maskless more than was scripted. Didn't need the mask at all to say "yup, that's the freakin Goblin"

I think the only performance of him I've seen that I didn't find great was boondock saints, might've just been the directing but definitely down a notch compared to his other stuff for me personally
it's wild to see Ryan be so subdued in the beginning of the series and progress into bigger personalities of Pitch Guy and Producer Guy
Love the chemistry between the 2 now. One doesn't even need to get off the other's back anymore

I'm so used to Ryan's now more comfortable methods as his Pitch Meeting characters that I sped up the Homecoming one to 1.25 speed to match the intensity the newer ones have.

its so surreal to see the older pitch meetings again.
In my mind, the inuniverse explaination for Ryan getting better at making these videos and finding his delivery style, is that Producer Guy and Screenwriter Guy started doing coke more and more over the years to deal with the stress of this industry

It's crazy to see how different pitch meeting is now from what it started out as

It’s great seeing how much more expressive, louder and over the too Ryan has become compared to his old pitch meetings. Even the quality changes and how director guy and pitch guy started being more dorky and smiled a lot

Actually the idea of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and either of James Franco's or Dane Dehaan's "mini Goblin" would've been an interesting touch. But I guess it would've taken up too much time to flesh out the chemistry between the characters.
Spider-Man: Homecoming happens because Tony decides to be irresponsible and give a teenager a high powered suit. Spider-Man: Far From Home happens because Tony decides to be irresponsible and give a teenager high powers weaponised glasses. Spider-Man: No Way Home shakes things up. It happens because Doctor Strange decides to be irresponsible and use a high powered spell to wipe everyones’ memory for a teenager without talking through it first.

I like how the old ones are more nuanced. It would be nice to see that more. Both characters are a bit smarter.

I knew Mysterio was a Spider-Man villain and I still thought he was going to be a good guy in this movie until he gave away his plan.
Truly amazing how much Ryan's presentation and the filming have improved over the years.

I like how an ad played after the line "Cashing in on nostalgia," in this Pitch Meeting compilation. Not sure if it was intentional, but if it was, it was probably the best new joke in this collection of older content.
