A Jeff Rolka warm up a day keeps the strain on my voice away
When I first started your exercises I could barely hit all the baritone notes and now I can go from the bottom of the baritone exercises through the top of the tenor version! Thank you as always Jeff!

Try to replace your coffee for a non-caffeinated tea such as throat coat with some honey. Caffeine drys out your throat
@StaticYonder

@@PEMexicano1932 I've personally never hade Caffeine dry my throat out. I put honey in all my coffee though
Without any further ado at 1:20 😉 Thanks Jeff! 🐯

Thank you Jeff, this is part of my morning routing now and I am very thankful for it. Since I have started my mornings with this one I find myself working with my voice, and having fun with it, as opposed to fighting it. Wishing you a blessed day

Hey Jeff! I’ve really been getting a lot of work done with your videos over the past few months. Thank you so much. I have a few questions I wanted to ask but I’m not sure if I should be trying to do that here in the comments or if there’s a better way to do so. Thanks again.

You can totally ask questions in the comments, but maybe start a fresh thread so that it goes to the top of my comment panel. If they get nested I sometimes miss them.
Great vocal workout Jeff! I only wish that you had gone up past high C because I sing up there A LOT lol. 😅

Hey Jeff! I love your exercise videos. I don't see how this one really adds anything to the other warmups though. It's just more of the same, not necessarily different or more challenging.

Hello poelimanjo, and thanks for your message. Thanks also for subscribing! You're right, in some respects there is little difference here from some of my other warm ups, but that's true of many of my videos. The subtle differences however, such as in the pacing, order of vowels, exercise selection, and what I chose to cover overall may make this warm up very different indeed for another singer. In other words, we're all different, have different strengths, different challenges, choose to sing different songs, and even sing in different languages. All of those elements, and more, make it so that one video, which to you may seem like any other of my videos, is very different for a different vocalist. All the best, Jeff

@@JeffRolka Thanks for your reply. I understand there are subtle differences. I would love to see warm ups from you that are more different and unique. My faves are the progressive warm up and the pentatonic warm up vids as they are a bit more challenging. But I have done them 1000 times, so would love a different one equally challenging!
I have just been diagnosed with TMJ and with my jaw pain my singing is becoming a chore. It's so deppressing but I refuse to quit what I love. Even the vocal exercises are expressively painful. I am open to positive suggestions if any. I am determined to work with my doctors but in the meantime I don't want to fall behind in my group. Thank you for all that you do.
@JeffRolka

I'm sorry to hear that - be gentle with yourself and talk to your doctors. They'll be able to help you the most, and guide you to a practice that will keep you going without (hopefully) being too uncomfortable!
I'm a blues/R&B/rock vocalist for 50 years with I suspect 50 years of some bad habits. I think I'm naturally a light baritone but maybe extended (or pushed/forced) up a bit. I'll pitch songs for myself so repeated highs are no higher than mid F or F#, rare highs no higher than G or G#. This tenor warmup is revealing. Lots of weak things to improve!

Very much value your tenor warm up videos and others as well. I have noticed, however, your more recent uploads - the past three four years or so - have a higher sound quality. While the older videos are still useful, you may want to consider updating some with better sound. For instance, the "How to Sing High Notes" series. Thanks, as always!

You are absolutely correct. I know I should do that, but I worry that it's weird to redo material in that way. You are, I reiterate, absolutely correct.
Hi Jeff. Thanks for your willingness to answer questions. You’re the best! What is the real difference between ‘warm up’ and ‘practice’ since they both involve similar singing of scales and arpeggios?
@JeffRolka

I'll answer you in Questions from Comments 48! Great question!
👏👏👏👏
I just wanna ask for female should we sing in higher octave or lower octave?? I'm confused
@JeffRolka

You could try one of the videos that are for female voices: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYtqtMqth5Xcl9I.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqmCrNSfcsfAk9I.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJiHm6uNhs7Icrg.html
Also, I'm wondering how one "practices" improving tone.
@JeffRolka
Жыл бұрын
It's a short-hand way of saying practice appoggio and vowel alignment.
