    I purchased the Pennine pathfinder folding camper (Top of the range ) almost 20 years ago from new .It was the best thing I've ever bought.The wife , family and I have travelled across the UK and Europe.Enjoying the freedom the trailer has given us ,and at the same time keeping down the costs. Our little home from home has been very comfortable,and easy to tow and store .I couldn't imagine ever camping in a dome tent again.

    I looked really hard at an EXP-6 GT for awhile. With the options that I wanted, it was just over $200K after importation, and they have to build one specifically for you, because by default they're wired for European-standard 220VAC/50hZ. When we requested a price, we got a quote, with a notice to expect 6-8 months lead time. My wife is pretty iffy on the price, so we haven't pulled the trigger yet.

    I would call this a UV (utility or ultimate vehicle). I build RV’s (recreational vehicle or ruined vacation). UV is much better than RV. No contest. In case you haven’t guessed, I’m an American. Builders of overpriced, low quality, and sometimes useless products that Americans buy in droves. Every Friday we get paid and go spend money on things we don’t need thereby giving our paychecks back to the people that wrote them. And we don’t bat an eye. Aren’t we cool?❤ Yea, sorry. I’m having a bad week (year) 😅

  • @bradsimpson8724

    @bradsimpson8724

    Жыл бұрын

    The Aussies have a very different view of camping gear than us in North America. There's considerably more unpaved roads and wildland camping than there is blacktop into RV parking lots. It has to be built to a higher quality, because they can't just drive it down the nice paved road to the dealer; they literally have to drag it out of the bush. And that bush gets hotter and more humid than it does here, is prone to far more aggressive rapid-onset weather than us, and is filled with some of the most dangerous wildlife on the planet. It's not cheap, though. I looked at buying an EXP-6 GT. With the options that I wanted, I was looking at just over $200K after paying for importation, and it was going to take awhile to build because standard ready-to-go units are wired for 220VAC/50hZ. I haven't dismissed the idea entirely, but my wife definitely was a bit more resistant when she heard about the price.
