ULTIMATE SR20 BUILD ULTRA DETAILED VIDEO! PART 1
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The most detailed rebuild video on the Sr20 yet. I filmed so much about it that it wouldn't fit into one video. Decided to do a 2 part video covering all the important details when rebuilding a sr20 engine and which parts we chose for it. So exited to finally have Adam's engine back up and running. hope you all enjoy this video please smash that like button and subscribe to my channel!

These are the videos we like Alberto. Keep them coming. Great work. Thanks!
Much better Alberto - keep up the detailed builds videos. This is what I hoped your channel would be when you first started it. Great work! Hi all the way from Cairns, Australia!
Love these build tutorials. I've seen you do so many I almost know your routine. They are good Alberto and in depth, I like how you explain the why's and the how comes. You are through and meticulous and that's really good. I know a lot goes into doing this for us and it slows you down a lot so I want to say thanks man.
Hi from Finland! This series is crazy helpful regarding that i've been planning on buying a Silvia. Thx for the content!
Thank you for making this video. I plan on putting an sr20det into my hardbody and had no idea what to do before watching this.
Best video yet! Mad respect for you! You're a very busy man, yet you always make room for us! Your an inspiration to me and many other people out here! Keep shoving these videos in our faces! I see you soaring soon! Much love, mad respect! -Anthony
Thank you for the upload Alberto! Very informative, helping me with my sr20det!

Alberto BIGBOOST No problem Alberto , you deserve it. Just finished watching the video , I can't wait for part 2 :)
I truly enjoyed every minute of this video !!
Awesome video. Thanks!
Alberto, try putting a dab of assembly lube in the groove for the oil pump O-ring to keep it in place while you install the pump/cover.

I really like this type of video, so much usefull information. Love from Guatemala!
i swear i could watch you buld sr20dets all day long great job!!!!
Man what a great video. Teached me a lot about my own engine. Thanks for this!
Now this is the big boost videos I live for!
This was like watching sr20det for dummies. That simple. Thank you
Thank for the video. Very informative and helping on my sr20det. Good job, hope u successful.
Great details Alberto!
This is a great video love it don't even mind a second video on this
Alberto Your informative video's are a breath of fresh air II have built many engines over the years and find these modern throw away engine's sickening. People don't want to do any work themselves as they are afraid to take them apart.

Formula 1Fan the sr20 engines are super simple. I should do a newer bmw engine at some point to show the complexity diference
I have learned so much from your videos keep up the good work man
Really informative mate. Keep it up
Great video keep it up! A detailed 2J video would get serious views. Its why I even watched Adam's videos a year ago before you had a channel.
Great detailed video !!!!
I love watching your channel keep up the good work
Great vid keep these tech inspired vids up
Great video Boost. Good content
muy educativo big boost!!!
P.S. Big Boost, don't be so hard on yourself! You're an outstanding mechanic, welder, video marker! Keep gettin it!
Very interesting Thank you for the Upload :)
keep those vids coming love em
Dope I’ll use this video for reference
Love your vids BIG BOOST!
Legend thanks for the video, I want to rebuild my SR
gonna be using this for my build, already learning deway
Good content Alberto....keep it up...best, Kent, Texasroper
Good video Alberto! Nice to see more SR20 love ;-) Was really hoping to see a complete Tomei 2.2L build for Adams car, but I guess this is ok aswell. Funny... I actually instictively look away from the arc of the torch even on a screen...ghehehe
Nice job on the vid! Really enjoy these in-depth tutorials! The original weld on the manifold side looks cold. You can see @4:35 there is a lack of fusion at the toe of the weld. Just thought it might be worth addressing to prevent future issues.
Back to what we love on this channel diy how to in detail
Awesome video
Good job Big Boost! And thank you for making this video! I really can't want to see the timing you did and how you finished since the crank link position was kinda zoomed out with the oil pump install.
Alberto needs his own TV show 😂😂 rebuilds with big boost
excellent alberto
So satisfying
Nice job
Gettiny first SR20det coming from VG30de can't wait to see how this goes !
Damn I was waiting for the bass drop to be in sync with the strike of the arc.
haha like how u went in detail with the rtv
Watching big boost before mighty car mods ;D
Your channel is sick keep it up
I like your work big boost
Love your vids Alberto! And yes, you were hesitant about the 65 foot pounds... then with the G25-55O the lifting was noticeable... wondering what your thoughts are now?
Good job big boost
Your killing it Alberto.... channels fucking Dope..
Love the vids tho Alberto and lz
Love your videos! Was wondering if you could provide info on your friends 180 set up for the electric fans. I Would appreciate any info!
Alberto big boost for mayor 🎉💨💯
Your the man!
Can you make a beginner guide to welding with various types of welders? I think it'd be series worthy.
hell yea love this shit!!!!
thanks
Alberto doing duh work :D
Killer dude👍
Great video Alberto. I know that you probably know this engine inside and out but is there a manual that you would recommend for reference when rebuilding one of these?
It sounds so much better
I am new to the engine building and I am wondering if there is much difference between a SR20DET from a 180sx and a SR20DE(Minus the Turbo)FWD engine? I have an Infiniti G20t P11 that I would like to build the engine and this video seems to be a pretty good reference on building an SR20.
mind if i ask where you got that digital torque wrench from? Thats pretty useful wit the beep lol. Im still just using one them dinky old school non digitals... think its time to upgrade to a better one
Hey Alberto, how do you stop the SR20DET turbo manifold from cracking?
Do you prefer rocker stoppers or dual guide conversion setup?
Don't own an SR never will lol... great video keep up the good content 🔥 🔥 🔥
No copper spray on the head gasket ? Did your opinion on that change ? Thanks
Nice👌
Did you not use oil or any lube on those studs? Also, Alberto, does it specify you need to use ultra grey rtv on the timing cover top section with the Gasket? Also are metal oem factory gaskets reuseable?
How did you keep the chain on the crank from losing its mark without keeping tension on the chain?
Alberto what is the firing order of a s13 I check on the forums but i see different orders
F*** yeah big boost I love these vids big boost back to business 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I know you know what you are doing, but has Adam and/or you looked into replacing the DE head with a VE head? It cancels the rocker arm issue and allows for more power. VVL is another big plus from a VE head. It is kind a big mod though which requires a different tune and special parts to attach RWD SR20 parts. The VE is a FWD SR20 setup. The Aussies do this swap quite often.
Alberto you need to make a V shape trench into the cut, does not have to go deep but you will get a more solid weld with it
Has he had any problems with the maf? I think he is using a z32 maf for the tune.. same as me .... Much appreciated
any chance you can share how you shimmed the motor?
Im uploading soon the porting and polish video of my SR20DET HEAD hope you can see it and maybe do it to Adams car in feature to see the results on dyno cuss my car is long way to be terminado acabo de ver los runners de intake cuando hablabas de los studs masswork i recordé lo feo el casting que estaba en mi tapa lol

EL DIESTRO DIY we tried dyno diference from ported head and stock head on Kelsey’s sr22det and the difference was 30hp on the same boost/timing and mixture. Went from a Mazworx ported head to a stock det head
Is that still the original oil pump or has it been replaced at some point?
This is amazing but why would you not used the same gasket material that you removed from the front cover?
Interesting, why you left some of the old RTV on the oil pump and why you did not let the RTV to tack up before tightening it up?!
What filler rod were you using on the manifold?
You use way to much gasket sealant. You can see how much of it is inside the timing cover. Eventually that's going to fall off and go in the oil pan. And potentially clog up your oil pick up. It happened to speed academy with there s2000 and it happened to me many years ago before I learnt out the hard way. It is only there to take out the tolerance between parts so a very thin film evenly applied with your finger will be enough.

Every time he says "a little bit" he globs on 3-5x more than he needs
Alberto use a pvc cap to back purge drill a small hole in it it’ll work the same
No silicon on top ir bottom of the head gasket?
What Milwaukee impact tool is that?
could of use Indian head gasket instead of the silicon works great. its also made by permatex. between the head gasket/ timing cover where the leak was present.
No ARP lube on the nut where it touches the washer and on the top ARP stud thread?

Do you put arp lube on the top of studs or just bottom??
Good job, but don't forget to show us BMW Drifting!!!
How can you be sure your timing marks line up if u put the timing cover/ oil pump on before the you finish timing the cams? And it doesn’t take that much extra time to properly torque everything I don’t know but for a lot of people who look at these videos for guidance on there own projects I find you cut a lot of corners
Alberto? Adams Car is Mis Firing. ;) Check the Fuel Injectors, and Spark Plugs, Then the Fuel Pump. ;) or Oxegen Sensor. :)
you should take pics, film then save footage of every block you work in then compare on videos how different they are from eachother. it would be very informative and insightful when u get a new block (german, japanese, american etc) to work on and show it on the video
Alberto, you need to open your own specialized automotive shop.
Doesn't he use copper spray now instead of silicone ? For the head gasket
I watched a video of a guy building his second sr20det engine and he tightened the head studs to 85. Idk. What do you think? Bad idea?
